Adding the SlySoft AnyDvd Hd plugin will trick it into playing blu-ray but this costs 163;55 and defeats the aim. In the end I brought forward my decision to get a new monitor with DVI output and it also worked without delay. My solution finally came with all the program called VirtualBox. The British magazine PC Plus reviewed it in issue 271 a little while ago- summer of 2008 and I thought we would try it. With VirtualBox, you will install a replica of Windows and other OS within a virtual file and run it within a VirtualBox from Ubuntu.
Its FREE, Open Source, and I find it irresistible!
This was the perfect solution is I needed for Corel Draw since I could be installing Corel Draw right into a REAL copy of Windows! You desire a licensed copy of Windows- but I had among those. I had a classic copy of Win2k Pro.

Now, all of my years of Corel Draw files are for the Data drive. And my new working copy of Corel Draw is at the Win2K VirtualBox. Now VirtualBox will let me designate some folders in my Ubuntu drives and list them as Shared. So I have to have a plan. So heres my strategies.
A. I have to have a shared folder in Ubuntu itself. I refer to it Ubuntushare and I placed it during my user name directory. So when I begin a Ubuntu file manager, I click in my Username folder and there could be the Ubuntushare folder. Thats a fairly easy destination to find it.
B. I also should decide a target for jumping to my data about the Data drive. In my case, I have a very folder about the Data drive called Drawings where I keep most of my Corel Draw files in numerous sub-folders. So I would like to share the Drawings folder.

But I will show you my experiences. I wasted several hours and finally met by success.
I use a modern laptop without parallel port. It is all USB.
I had mixed results installing USB printers.
I FAILED to install an existing HP Photosmart P1000. I downloaded the Win2K driver file from HP and installed it, but could not get Win2k to determine the P1000. I think that is older USB plug and Play technology.
But I was SUCCESSFUL at installing a fresh HP Photosmart D7460.
But there are a few things I had to accomplish/figure out to acquire that D7460 to be effective.
1. Get USB functioning properly at all. The previous tutorial describes this well.
2. Plug the USB printer in, set up VirtualBox yet not Windows and make a FILTER. In this example, filters let thing IN. The default action of VirtualBox is always to keep things OUT. I am a keen Corel Draw user, and tried for getting X4 set up in Ubuntu 8.10 that's installed within Windows XP, a virtual install, just the alternative of what you really are explaining here. X4 crashed and may not install, so I tried my old version of Corel Draw 11 and installed Wine in Ubuntu then 11, it worked flawlessly. I am a signmaker and rehearse Corel to print to wide format printers and vinyl plotters. It is my goal to try out Ubuntu and see whether I could get it to be effective with my equipment. Ideally I would want for getting X4 doing work in Ubuntu. My goal just isn't to have to purchase Windows and instead have Ubuntu as my primary and simply OS and be capable to have it assist my equipment. But for now, having Corel 11 in Ubuntu 8.10 is awesome! Only thing is the clipboard can not work. Thanks again for the post, I may experience it just for entertainment. Mahogan
