Ive used previous versions of Painter, sometime ago. When my kiddo became enthusiastic about doing more technical drawings than KidPix would support I immediately looked into Painter Essentials.
Amazon delivered the package quickly, and Ive spent the last two mornings dealing with Corel support trying to acquire the program to operate. I am not a designer, not computer savvy and used this device with a mouse. And even wonderful those disclaimers I can tell you it had not been easy to work with until I read the booklet and watched the tutorial. So I suggest you watch the tutorial videos that accompany it first. After a little practice I was capable to produce paintings from photos the way it promised. After you install this program, go around the Corel site and download the update. Works great. I feel sorry for people who returned the application. Works better still with Win 10.
This didnt operate in our new computer; it is a shame because weve tried it before and liked it.

Program was not appropriate for Windows 7, only Windows XP.
Essentials works if you could have XP. Windows 8.1 won't make it compatible, I tried all compatible setting available from 8.1 for 3 hours. What a waste of your good program.

like the very first reviewer I had major issues trying to have this program to put in, so I kept installing unaware I had downloaded it lots of times. Corel did a hotfix, now this course installed works. Now my sister gave the amazon card as a birthday gift and I would like to install on my small laptop but Amazon wants another 29.95 to me to be able to place the on my laptop.I guess I will not be buying any longer downloadable software from amazon. Happy birthday in my experience!!

I have tried numerous times to download this system and nothing usually work. Sometimes I get your message that it downloaded successfully and often will not open, the very next time I get a fatal error. I tried removing it and loading again but still nothing. I have adequate space available and I am running windows 7 so that it should load with virtually no problem. I feel I just wasted 50.00 on something I cant use. Next time I will purchase the disc atleast then I can return it when it does not work.

Be aware that this method is only for 64 bit systems. I made the big mistake by not reading little print. Luckily I am setting up a 64 bit Windows 7 system so I will likely be able to utilize the program inside the future. Usually a software company may have a 32 bit and 64 bit version for the same disk. I guess that I will see simply how much ram is required to run it efficiently. More than 4 GB is often just a waste of money for just a computer that is not useful for some in the newer games.

Installation hours in, and its only a cycle of install, repair patch and all over again. I wasted 30 bucks. I like Corel, but this sucks, and there is no tech assist to contact.

Rather disappointed - havent put on the extender extensively, but up to now the photo auto-painting features dont seem to become much better than a version from 3-4 in years past.
Easy and fun to change photographs into pieces of art.
