I got such a laptop last 2010 which had cyberlink powerdvd 8. After having multiple issues playing newere blurays I realized that many only is supported for 2 years before new title support is dropped and you are therefore forced to find the newest version on the software you already payed for.
For the discs which it did listen to it worked well however I won't be updating mine so I can get another 24 months until I have to buy it again.
