Based on prior knowledge about CyberLink products, I decided to offer this a chance. What a big mistake. I purchased the download version, which had being downloaded in three steps, as both versions took no less than an hour to download via DSL. The third download failed 4 times. I cant blame CyberLink to the download failures, but I can blame them for creating a completely worthless product. After finally downloading and activating, I successfully compiled a film from various movies. Then I successfully produced created a show. Then I attemptedto burn the movie to DVD. After 92% completion, I got an oversight message. After two more attempts, I got the identical error message in the 92% point. I decided to make a short 12 minute movie and burn it to DVD. It worked. After a great many other attempts at creating movies of varying lengths, I had success with merely the 12-minute movie. I lost tabs on how many DVDs I wasted. I contacted CyberLinks tech support via email. After a week, they havent replied and Im convinced they wont. Ive uninstalled the item and wont ever buy from CyberLink again. Shame on CyberLink for foisting this part of junk on consumers then doing nothing concerning this. Id stay away from this system if I were you.
Addendum: Ive now read other reviews of this supplement on different sites/forums. Some state that you need a satisfactory computer system to run this supplement. My system runs Windows 7 64-bit, carries a 3.1 GHz around 3.4 GHz with turbo Intel Core I5 Sandy Bridge quad-core processor, 8 Gibabytes of memory, and, even though it shouldnt matter, a single Terabyte 1, 000 Gigabytes hard disk. This is much more than the recommendations of CyberLink. Dont seek to blame pcs for a worthless product. Junk is junk.

Purchased POWERDIRECTOR 10 from, early December, 2011.
Software wouldn't work after installation, and re-installation as recommended by Cyberlink instructions.
CyberLink Issue Reporter indicate a minidump crash. Their crash report cannot send its report to Cyberlink. To contact tech support online, password strength is required. The Cyberlink site indicates a contact was delivered to me. In checking email, no messages were received from Cyberlink. If I want voice support, I must pay a different 29.95 for just two months service. Finally capable of send emails to customer satisfaction.
Its now been 8 weeks since my emails to customer satisfaction and no reply may be received from Cyberlink.

Using this supplement is just painful - I am wanting to convert the house videos and it also simply takes forever. Now Im trying to build dvds also it has frozen up 3x 90% complete - it will require 20 minutes to have to 90% then youre told really bad buddy, start from scratch.

Seems to be an excellent product, but
1 It more often than not crashes when I boot it. If I reboot my computer more than once and keep trying, I might understand. This is extensively recorded - just search for PowerDirector 10 Crashes. Published workarounds like installing the patches, upgrading your complete other drivers, reinstalling Quicktime, etc. don't work.
2 It is really a 32-bit version of Power Director 10 Ultra, but nevertheless claims for being Worlds Fastest Video Editor. No it isnt, the 64 bit Ultra version is. I waited quite a while for rendering. False claims within the box.
3 It is Demoware, as it confuses you with plenty of options and menu things that dont work and merely beg one to upgrade. But, the upgrade options and pricing are as if you are upgrading from an adult version, so that it isnt plenty. It is disingenuous to have a very Deluxe version that acts as being a free version begging for being upgraded.
4 files that crash Windows 7s Media Player.
Actually - it is seems properly designed and is super fun once you understand it running. The reviews for that Ultra Version tend to be better, so perhaps it can be more stable. By all means, don't think of buying this crippled version, buy Ultra.

Ive graduated from PowerDirector 7-8-9 and today 10. PowerDirector 10 is the better version up to now. Ive not had one failure of burning a disc, no crashes or some other issues. Ive sucessfully burned maybe 100 DVDs and 25 Blu-Rays. On my latest projec the Blu-ray runs 85 Minutes plus the DVD version 59 minutes. Both at from 1080 dpi video whilst still being shots. On a DVD I make an effort to never exceed HQ time condstraints
Producing to Youtube or a file has been flawless. Granted, producing to Youtube takes forever, despite having DSL, but no issues other then time using a 9 min Youtube upload at 1080 dpi.
Why no issues? Im not sure but I sustect its because I am running an Core I-7, 3.2 Ghz with 18 GB RAM and Windpows 7 Professional 64 bit. Slower computers might have issues. My less powerful system would choke sometimes on PowerDirector 9.
May 20th UPDATE. Ive used this software to build and burn to both dvd and Blu-ray no faults or coasters. Highly recommend. Since I installed this system there continues to be one 1 update. Not sure wwhy as I never had a concern but show these are on top of things.
