Based on prior knowledge about CyberLink products, I decided to supply this a chance. What a big mistake. Then I attempted to burn the movie to DVD. After 92% completion, I got a blunder message. After two more attempts, I got precisely the same error message for the 92% point. I decided to produce a short 12 minute movie and burn it to DVD. It worked. After several attempts at creating movies of varying lengths, I had success with the 12-minute movie. I lost a record of how many DVDs I wasted. I contacted CyberLinks tech support team via email. After a week, they havent replied and Im fairly certain they wont. Ive uninstalled the item and wont ever obtain CyberLink again. Shame on CyberLink for foisting this section of junk on consumers and doing nothing about this. Id stay away from this supplement if I were you.
Addendum: Ive now read other reviews with this product on different sites/forums. Some claim that you may need an adequate personal computer to run this supplement. My system runs Windows 7 64-bit, carries a 3.1 GHz as much as 3.4 GHz with turbo Intel Core I5 Sandy Bridge quad-core processor, 8 Gibabytes of memory, and, whilst it shouldnt matter, a 60 minute Terabyte 1, 000 Gigabytes hard disk. This is more than the recommendations of CyberLink. Dont seek to blame computer systems to get a worthless product. Junk is junk.

Purchased POWERDIRECTOR 10 from, early December, 2011.
Software would not work after installation, and re-installation as recommended by Cyberlink instructions.
CyberLink Issue Reporter indicate a minidump crash. Their crash report is unable to transmit its report to Cyberlink. To contact tech support team online, your password is required. The Cyberlink site indicates a contact was delivered to me. In checking email, no messages were received from Cyberlink. If I want voice support, I must pay yet another 29.95 for two main months service. Finally able to transmit email messages to customer support.
Its now been eight weeks since my emails to support services and no reply is received from Cyberlink.

Using this device is just painful - I am wanting to convert home videos and it also simply takes forever. Now Im looking to create dvds and yes it has frozen up 3x 90% complete - it will take 20 minutes to obtain to 90% then youre told to bad this time buddy, start again.

1 It generally crashes when I boot it. If I reboot my computer repeatedly and keep trying, I might understand. This is extensively recorded - just search for PowerDirector 10 Crashes. Ive graduated from PowerDirector 7-8-9 and after this 10. PowerDirector 10 would be the best version to date. Ive not had one failure of burning a disc, no crashes or any other issues. Producing to Youtube in order to a file has been flawless. Granted, producing to Youtube takes forever, despite having DSL, but no issues other then time using a 9 min Youtube upload at 1080 dpi.
Why no issues? Im not sure but I sustect its because I am running an Core I-7, 3.2 Ghz with 18 GB RAM and Windpows 7 Professional 64 bit. Slower computers could very well have issues. My less powerful system would choke from time to time on PowerDirector 9.
May 20th UPDATE. Ive used this program to build and burn to both dvd and Blu-ray with no faults or coasters. Highly recommend. Since I installed this course there is one 1 update. Not sure wwhy as I never had a concern but show these are on top of things.

Ive graduated from PowerDirector 7-8-9 and today 10. PowerDirector 10 could be the best version thus far. Ive not had one failure to shed a disc, no crashes and other issues. Ive sucessfully burned maybe 100 DVDs and 25 Blu-Rays. On my latest projec the Blu-ray runs 85 Minutes as well as the DVD version 59 minutes. Both at from 1080 dpi video yet still shots. On a DVD I seek to never exceed HQ time condstraints

Ive graduated from PowerDirector 7-8-9 and after this 10. PowerDirector 10 would be the best version up to now. Ive not had one failure of burning a disc, no crashes or another issues. Ive sucessfully burned maybe 100 DVDs and 25 Blu-Rays. On my latest projec the Blu-ray runs 85 Minutes and also the DVD version 59 minutes. Both at from 1080 dpi video but still shots. On a DVD I try and never exceed HQ time condstraints
Producing to Youtube or even a file has been flawless. Granted, producing to Youtube takes forever, despite the presence of DSL, but no issues other then time on the 9 min Youtube upload at 1080 dpi.
Why no issues? Im not sure but I sustect its because I am running an Core I-7, 3.2 Ghz with 18 GB RAM and Windpows 7 Professional 64 bit. Slower computers could possibly have issues. My less powerful system would choke on occasion on PowerDirector 9.
May 20th UPDATE. Ive used this software to build and burn to both dvd and Blu-ray with out faults or coasters. Highly recommend. Since I installed this program there may be one 1 update. Not sure wwhy as I never had a challenge but show these are on top of things.

I used a good computer by having an intel quad core i7 notebook plus a discrete radeon 1gb 6770m notebook, so maybe that why I had the best knowledge about cyberpower. I cannot play a dvd about the TV constructed with PD 10.I have attended their forum and tried everything suggested and even more. I have tried several DVD players. I ahave checked every preference.
I have politely written on their tech support almost a week ago without answer. This may be the worst tech support I have ever encountered.
I can burn and play what I create in PD 10 to software both free and commercial, although not in theirs.
The part in the software that actually works is good, on the other hand burner has an issue apparently. It does write something for the DVD, but nothing that's playable.

I purchased quite sure based about the great reviews it received from various reputable websites. I wish I could get yourself a refund. My computer isn't any slouch and exceeds the minimum requirements needed to operate this software. However, this software is definitely horrible programming.
I continuously lose my work and still have to start completely from scratch because of crashes. The project restore option doesnt work effectively.
Also, should you want to add stylish subtitles or captions in your videos, forget about this.

Created a DVD slideshow with 370 pictures music for totally 2109MB. No fancy features, just normal transition. When I burned it to disk to be a MPEG-2 format, it took 3:46 hours to achieve 91%. I started having a download version while my order was a student in transit. Loaded the CD once it arrived. I have been a Pinnacle Studio user for decades. I look at ratings number one ten reviews and Power Director 10 was their most favorite. Bottom line, it can be easy to utilize and is rock solid. Rendering is fast and painless. Converting full 60 minutes videos captured from DV cameras and not using a hitch. Less than 25 minutes to render a complete hour. The graphical user interface is different from Pinnacle, but very very easy to learn. There are plenty of good features, many of which I have yet to attempt. Final DVD is effective.
There is but one feature which is different than what I expected. The software is usually to smart in terms of capturing at a DV camera. My older Canon posseses an analog to digital converter feature. Power Director overrides what I am seeking to perform throughout the camera and wants to look at tape within the camera. Windows movie maker does exactly exactly the same thing. So Im still using my old Studio 8 to capture over the camera.
System: Windows 7, Intel I7, 16 Gig RAM, 2 t Byte disc.
It does run in 32 bit mode, however the performance is ok.
