Ive been using PowerDirector in my business since version 10. Part of my company includes transferring customer VHS tapes to DVD. Although I feel the program itself is excellent compared to others I have tried, I have to rate it 1-star for Cyberlinks support or absence of support.
What has begun happening recently when transferring video from VHS tapes into PowerDirector can be an error arises that says This movie is copyright protected. Recording is prohibited. This immediately causes PowerDirector to avoid capturing the playback quality. The problem is this is happening on home videos, not copyrighted movies that you would expect. I searched for just a solution to this issue and unfortunately found through Cyberlink forums this problem started happening in excess of five years ago once they introduced Macrovision detection inside their software. I am all for copyright protection being constructed into the However, if the algorithm that detects copyrighted material is poorly designed and results in home videos to trigger it, that turns into a big problem for me personally. I recommend you are not an Nvidia Quadro card AVOID miracle traffic bot. I are unsure if this applies to GeForce cards. Update Dec 3, 2015: received email from CS today. Thanks Cyberlink but I am not thinking about products that don't work and shady marketing practices! The problem is documented in forums also it simply shouldnt stay in v14 since 4K was supported from v13. And whatever was wrong in v14 should are actually fixed that patches incorporated within the trial version. It either hadnt been done or trial version is deliberately crippled. The latter may seem to be the way it is - the show up 50% off blinking banner is not disabled or removed.
