Herrje jetzt ist es nicht mal mehr mglich, die newtab URL in der about:config zu ndern, toll gemacht, Mozilla, Firefox wird immer besser.
Bin zu erst mal zu Opera gewechselt, da mit Firefox Youtube Videos in hoher Auflsung fast unmglich ist. Und die Leistung ist so gesunken, was aber vor einigen Versionen nicht der Fall war. Langsam aber sicher enttuscht mir der Firefox immer Schade drum. Ich hoffe da tut sich noch was, weil dann schmeisse ich den Fuchs anstandslos von meiner Festplatte. Das ist in dem Sinn kein richtiges Update, manchmal werden Firefox-Versionen nur auf den FTP Servern von Mozilla verffentlicht, aber nicht offiziell verteilt. Dies ist so ein Fall

Schnellster Browser? Bei meinem PC Win7 Pro/64 Bit ist das Gegenteil der Fall: Extrem langsamer Seitenaufbau, um Sekunden verzgerte Anzeige von Zeichen, die man in Textfelder eingibt.
Meine Erfahrungen decken sich 100 % mit denen von warmsummerrain: Firefox 38 ist unbrauchbar und zwingt zum Browserwechsel. Ich verwende jetzt Opera.

Damit ist gemeint, dass es von Firefox selbst noch keine 64-bit-Version gibt.
Die Installation auf einem 64-bit Betriebsystem Win 7, Win 8, etc. ist natrlich mglich.
Die Version 37.0.2 gibt es noch bei filehippo.

Habe ein neuinstalliertes Windows 7-System !!! und war gerade dabei, alle zustzlichen Programme, die ich bentige, auch noch zu installieren.
Als Firefox drankam, war noch die Version 37.0.2 aktuell. Installatioin klappte reibungslos, lief alles einwandfrei, alle zustzlichen Add-ons installiert und konfiguriert - wunderbar! Kein Problem. So wie es sein soll.
Denn einen Tag spter kam die als stable deklarierte Version 38.0.1 raus, die ich natrlich ebenso installiert habe.
Klar, man mchte natrlich die bekannten Sicherheitslcken behoben wissen und eventuell auch die neuen Features, die mit dieser aktuellen Version rauskamen, nutzen.
Aber was dann passierte, war eine einzige Katastrophe!!!!
Es ging nichts mehr!!!! Schneckentempo ist ja noch geschmeichelt!!!!
Firefox war definitiv zu nichts mehr zu gebrauchen!!
Hab dann in mhevoller Arbeit erstmal alle Add-ons deaktiviert und das dauerte bei diesem Tempo, denn man mchte ja schlielich die Ursache ausfindig machen, die fr diesen katastrophalen Zustand verantwortlich ist.
Leider Fehlanzeige. Keine Besserung.
Dann ein neues Profil angelegt, das alte gelscht - wieder keine Besserung.
Dann komplett deinstalliert und zustzlich alle Programmfragmente, die bei der Deinstallation nicht gelscht wurden, entfernt. Zudem auch in der Registirierung die entsprechenden Eintrge entfernt.
Daraufhin eine erneute Installation von 38.0.1 durchgefhrt - diesmal natrlich frisch und direkt die Version 38.01, ohne Update von 37.0.2 auf 38.0.1 - man mchte ja auch das ausschlieen.
Wieder alles entfernt, Version 37.0.2 installiert - und, et voil, alles funktioniert wieder einwandfrei!!!!!
Dann musste ich leider logischerweise wieder alle Add-ons installierten und konfigurieren.
Das alles war extrem nervenaufrreibend und zudem vllig berflssig!!!
Wenn wir jetzt auch schon bei Mozilla soweit sind, dass die Mozilla Community als stable deklarierte Beta-Versionen ihres Browers auf den Markt wirft, nur um Features anzukndigen, die vielleicht sonst noch kein anderer Browser bietet, dann ist das gelinde ausgedrckt ein Armutszeugnis - und eine Frechheit dazu!!!

Ich habe Firefox fast seit Anbeginn und mu sagen, er wird immer langsamer. Deswegen nutze ich jetzt nur noch Chrom und Firefox zu parallelen Downloads. MfGP
Ich mu auch sagen, das viel zu viele Funktionen, die kaum einer braucht, in den Firefox integriert worden sind. Dadurch ist er wohl auch eine Ecke langsamer geworden. Es ist nicht mehr der schnelle schlanke Browser, der er mal war. Der Marktanteil ist wohl deswegen auch schon zurckgegangen. Ich habe mittlerweile auch andere, weniger bekannte Browser ausprobiert - diese waren deutlich schneller als der Firefox. Schade, da die Entwickler den Firefox in Richtung lahme Krcke drngen.

I agree along with you. I have been an exceptionally loyal user ever since the 2Ks but something happened since update before last. Now whenever I had FF open for almost any length of time, my entire system became did not desire to do it, but I needed to uninstall. I am employing a - soft browser and am not enjoying it at What happened for the FF we all loved and used without issue for additional than a decade!!! needsAFix

Try updating to 41.0.1, Mozilla says that version fixes hangs.
Hangs, crashes, and uses a great deal of memory.
