I purchased it because it's required for a class I am taking. It explains English grammar clearly and merely. Short chapters and enormous type makes a 384 page book. Its the same as maybe 200 pages of any regular book. We are using it with all the workbook, and so they complement the other person well. If you are really just reviewing your grammar, you could try getting only the workbook, which comes with quick explanations at the outset of each list of worksheets. The workbook has correct answers for everyone of the worksheets, with explanations of why those answers are correct.
I think I slept through grammar, which has been taught somewhere inside my K-12 years, because I remember not much of it coupled with no real information about things like gerunds or dangling participles. For me the publication and workbook combo work nicely.

I do not possess very good grammar, because you can notice from my review, but keep in mind that my grammar would be a lot worse. The book is not difficult to read and good hitting the ground with keep. I am not a native English speaker however I know many rules that natives don't realize. Thanks to Ms. Woods. Now I have more confident when I speak or write much better than before. Actually, many of the guidelines make sense, Ms. Woods made them doing this, the author of that book nows how people think and what may be the next question that arrive at your mind; therefore, she answer you questions should you keep reading. I recommended the ebook to other friends and I recommend it to you personally too. Fun and easy to learn.

I am currently getting a class called advanced syntax an rhetoric and that is as horrifying the way it sounds. This book has really reduced the problem understand all aspects of your sentence, from your basics for the advanced. Its a simple read and uses sentence examples that happen to be relatively complex not as all it really is a book for senior high school studentswhich is extremely good, because those simple 5 word examples we always get using their company books are completely worthless when you begin having to analyze sentences with multiple nouns, verbs, appositives, infinitives, and prepositional phrases. Normally, I like Dummies books. Normally, I have no issue finishing a Dummies book. This is just the second time I have stopped reading a Dummies book before reaching the before reaching the tip. Like all grammar books, this uses examples as an example the grammar rule learning. Examples are very important to teaching English grammar. Unfortunately, the examples with this book used such odd names, together with such odd events happening, who's was impossible to the reader to concentrate around the grammar rule being trained. While one certainly would not expect Ms. Woods to utilize names like Dick, Jane and Sally, one also didn't expect to be constantly bombarded with names like Blathersby, Rugelach, Legghorn, Rumpus, Eggworthy, Grunhilda, Murgatroyd, Ludmilla, Ruggles, Ratrug, etc. Although, Ratrug is a very nice term for a ferret. And what were a number of the things our handsomely named individuals were doing? Oh, lets see: Ledmillas continual efforts to impress Ludwig were fruitless, for example the fruit basket she sent him on Monday and also the piranha she Fed-Exed on Tuesday. Or: Shakey asserted he had tossed the salad out of the window. It hit a pedestrian, who sued for lettuce-related damage.
Who on this planet was Ms. Woods considering when she wrote this book? Obviously, not individuals who did not learn proper grammar in class, and so are desperately trying to learn it now; or immigrants trying to learn proper English; or individuals reviewing grammar rules, since their middle-aged mental abilities are kicking out a lot of those rules.
