Disappointingly outdated already Ipods but thats certain with most tech based books. Whats really disapponting may be the attempt to suggest common economic and business ideas as something only Information System rather than using them to indicate how Info Sys may benefit them. My instructor needed to bounce over the book to help keep topics together the location where the books presents being a little gain spread across chapters.

Rented this textbook for just a computer science class. Though it was mandatory reading, this is one with the easier textbooks for getting through. Each chapter was very easy to digest and understand, used actual life examples as an instance points along plenty of discussion questions that led someone to think such as a manager about technology in business, plus it wasnt an irritation to carry around mainly because it is paperback.

Im employing this book as part of the first year information systems course and look for that its just brimming with useless buzzwords. I have without doubt that both Kenneth and Jane Laudon are extremely smart of their field both hold Phds but like the majority of books compiled by academics it suffers at a largely academic analysis from the IT industry. It looks like they've got little or no experience from the REAL world. It shows.

in to the area of MIS. It explains basic definitions and
strategic systems, MIS, Knowledge-based systems and
artificial intelligence, operational systems etc. It is usually a
framework to put on the technology. They cannot get this
framework from education alone. The Laudon text
provides many diagrams, system flow charts, CD-ROM
supplements and also a plethora of meaningful learning tools.
At the end on the work, the article author includes a number of
the MIS technology taught inside the Laudon text. My students
did well within the course and enjoyed the rigorous presentation.
This text is just not for the mediocre student. It is geared
with the B or better student.
