I, and several others, failed to upgrade to 2014 from 2012 due to all of the bugs and absence of improvements within the 2014 version. I recently was required to upgrade towards the newest Mac OS, Yosemite, and 2012 continually crashes and will NOT be held by MakeMusic. I are actually a staunch supporter of Finale for quite a while, but my support has now wavered. I used this method as a composer for decades. From the beginning I hated every facet of it. There is no doubt that you'll be able to write music considerably faster by hand unless you've got lots of cut and paste repetition. As fate would've it, from the time I bought Finale I also had 7, 000 hours pc application programming under my belt. Based on that experience, I conjecture that this initial architectural reasoning behind this product was deeply and horribly flawed, contributing to an unfixable mess. Finale would basically have to start yourself to improve functionality.
