I am a keen user of Finale NotePad 2008 and jumped within the 2009 update. Same features for 9.95, nevertheless the price isnt too unreasonable.

I have used NotePad for a few years now. This will be the easiest freeware notation tool I have used thus far, plus the instrument playback feature can be a welcome feature.
