This book is incredibly well written and David is clearly a superb educator, as his videos reveal. I would recommend both this book along with the video series to be a basic guide to Flash Builder/Flex 4. However, I feel the idea of Bible can be a fairly serious misnomer. The book offers an overview, but retreats into very little detail on virtually any subject. Once you start actually using Flex to build a project, youre about to run into LOTS of questions. How do I clear a questionnaire? How do I effectively make multiple HTTPService requests from just one instance with the class? Does a TitleWindow must be popped up before its public properties and methods can be found? How do I create skinnable icon button without label? What are the rules for use on the various meta tags Bindable, Embed, etc? How do I make an MVC app in Flex? How do I make a custom data service?
Flex is often a VERY large and deep program without single volume may hope to cover it completely. I just want someone to be prepared to purchase another book just after reading this one.
