Im using Flash Builder 4 with 4.5 SDK and my application is usually a mixture of mx and spark controls. Im also using Catalyst for skinning. Problem is Flash Builder 4 doesnt render the structure view for most specific item renderers, custom components etc and im struggle to work in design view where cosmetic changes are expected. My application is situated heavily on visual stuff i really cant live without design view.
My machine is AMD Turion Dual Core Mobile 500 2.20 Ghz, 4GB Ram, and Windows 7 64Bit, 256MB ATI Card
What could possibly be the cause of this issue? Is it on account of my mx/spark combination or my AMD Machine?
For me the computer will not be the problem.
Flash Catalyst, can be used to generate GUI with spark library then, i dont thik that the situation is that youve got MX and Spark component.
To solve your issue, I suggest you to duplicate your project and delete all portion of your GUI.
Then, redraw component one after the other from your copy with the project and switch on the design view to solve your complaint.
Ive also encountered issues with design view when I caused 4.5 inside Flash Builder 4.
There was no syntax error as well as the code compiled perfectly, but the style view wasnt working.
Ive also had some issues. Occasionally, it functions after I delete folder inside the root but it means you lose your entire FB settings. Maybe produce a copy in the the entire directory, then delete folder and discover if that helps. If not, restore.
But the issue is design view, where i am not capable to do visual changes.
I possess the very same issue. After importing n existing project from flex builder 3 while using the flex 3.3 sdk into flash builder using 4.5 sdk i just now see a grey screen from the design view?

This is nuts I have 2 redesign the whole front end of my project in order to use among the new components. Thats a huge number of lines of code that can take weeks to perform! Absolutly crazy!
And what exactly are you likely to do if they change it between Beta and Production and once they arrogantly report that it was this, a Beta ;?
