Good price as compared to other simulators that cost hundreds and provide only aircraft or helicopters make use of depending on which package you end up picking.
Depth of field isn't as good as RF Real Flight, Does not offer flight instructor mode, Does not offer take-off assist trainer or landing assist trainer.
Great training aid for that money. Will help greatly in polishing hand-eye coordination skills prior to going out to your field to fly your real R/C aircrafts. Does not hurt your pocket book in price such as Real flight that cost 170-200 plus to get a R/C simulator!

I am a standard aviation pilot, flying single engine fixed wing Cessna type aircraft 4 seater. Flight Simulator X gives the sensation of actually piloting an airplane. The plane responds towards the controls much much like the real thing.
Like other reviewers, I must agree that you will need to have a great computer. I employ a dual processor Pentium D 940 running 3.2 Ghz, 4 gb RAM, 512 mb NVIDIA graphic card. On my system, with set to their maximum graphics and scenery, it runs well, with only an intermittent slight bump in frame-rates. I am somewhat disappointed using the scenery, that is good in main cities, however basic inside the country-side. The terrain is a useful one everywhere, though the structures lack detail in besides the cities. The detail on airport runways and taxiways is terrific! Aircraft list is extensive. I recommend it.

I got my copy in this edition a couple weeks ago. The last copy of FS I owned was the 2000 version so I concerned ready for the upgrade! I dropped the initial DVD in and installed it; it took a fantastic half an hour to have through all 3 DVDs. Then I fired up. I was immediately prompted for the purpose kind of user was I - novice, experienced FS user or perhaps an actual Pilot. I picked novice as Id not played a casino game like this one in at the very least four a number of needed the many help I could get. It then talked me though some basics and permit me to control a jet already inside the air at one time and that was cool - a breeze intro; I was exploring the plane from behind so no confusing instruments or what-have-you. Felt just like an accomplishment!
After this it suggested I go with the tutorials, and explained where to find them, and although I was itching to just remove from a tiny airport not far from my home in the Cessna something like that and just get flying, maybe look for my house - I resisted the desire and dutifully found the very first mission.
It was within a microlite, that's nice and an easy task to see beyond, that was already flying inside air if your mission started. I just were forced to navigate it though some huge green squares hanging improbably in mid-air, which I practically managed following your second go. I then wandered about, determined it awesome to see a compact boat whizzing along a coast I seemed being over; I worked out the best way to get down all-around it and was racing along just above it! Well, briefly - I got too low and fell inside drink:-p

Flight Simulator X may be the culmination of decades of programming and product evolution. As someone who used FS briefly back inside the 1980s over a Commodore 64, it had been always something I wanted to master but never had any time required. So after following developments on both Microsoft and FS community websites, I decided to buy a Dell XPS M1710, FS X, and Saitek X52 stick and Pro Rudder controls. While I are already generally pleased with my decision, I am a bit dismayed that my system isnt powerful enough to utilize the complete capabilities of FS X.
The current incarnation of FS is rather an accomplishment. However with such advanced features and realism comes the commitment of resources, including cutting-edge computing hardware, time and money. While FS X has added missions with specified tasks, this is NOT a game title. More importantly, the programmers at Microsoft were somewhat forward thinking inside their hardware demands.
Much on the griping heard on the FS community centers throughout the incredible computing horsepower necessary to make the overall game function. Many with the complaints are valid. However, computing power is continuously increasing. Moreover, the speed of improvement in graphics performance is definitely exceeding Moores law. Yet, do expect to have a significant investment in your hardware beyond a high-end business PC. Think technologically advanced hardware in Q1 2007.
When inside task manager, I routinely begin to see the memory usage exceed 500MB for FS alone. To make FS function properly, you need to have at least a 256mb video card, 2 GB of RAM, plus a 2 GHz Core DUO processor. Even with this type of system, you will have the desire to upgrade. Flight Simulator X would be the newest edition and graphically the best with the flight simulators for the market. Many on the graphics may be improved since flight simulator 2004 much like the ground textures. It really looks much like the real world. You can even pinpoint many recognizable highways and roads from a own city. You can even see moving cars, moving gates at airports, and in many cases moving baggage carts. The airports look additional realistic since they have real markings and perhaps the airport tiles with the gates. Also mountain ranges look superior. Many with the mountains are sculpted on their acutal sizes and causes it to be very realistic. The graphics convey more depth compared to 2004 version and if your new Windows Vista 10 arrives, the graphics will appear even more realistic as opposed to currently. There are also more planes with this game. Included are the most common Boeing and Cessnas, but there are new jets much like the airbus a321, and even a different glider, that is towed by another airplane. You can even visit websites for getting more planes and decals totally free like Delta, Southwest by googling the search flight simulator x downloads. Websites like simviation offer you a lot of variety which enables it to make it far more realistic. Another feature will be the missions. Some from the mission include just getting from point a to point out b. Others include landing a plane using a moving bus, or rescuing people inside middle in the ocean. This new mode adds additional depth and you also even earn rewards for completing them.
