I have already been a SAS Works with Windows, Mac and Linux Formed in December 2003, Paris - France. The plan for Myhybris started to take shape. However, the Myhybris project was designed in May 2006 which consists of maxi Pretty Scares, welcomed because of the musical press. Five friends, sharing the identical passion for music, grabed a seat within a studio where they are able to give free rein thus to their creativity. Meeting after meeting, the group gave birth to peaceful pieces equally well as tortured ones, in accordance which consists of own vision worldwide. Today the group are four pices. The band was supported in 2007 by the local tracking unit and received personalized advices, many training and meetings with professionals. With more than 100 shows performed in France, Myhybris now seeks to get stages worldwide to share its musical and video universe. Myhybris is really a new band playing a remarkable Progressive Rock, that learn how to combine, symphonism together with the vibrant Progressive Metal, setting up a own style and perfectly balanced with epic melodies and filled with power. They realize how to use the the ingredients to develope an excellent Progressive Rock, the sounds of guitars and keyboards are finished in perfect doses, adding powerful female vocals, adorned by vibrant drums, the place that the result is often a dynamic instrumentation and in addition very cool orchestration, in truth they know developing an amazing sound. The Sweet Melody Of Resilience contains roughly 27 minutes, packed with wonderful compositions, all tracks are very written and performed, split into four chapters, its likely identify many musical styles including Melodic Metal, Symphonic Progressive Rock, Progressive Metal however altogether with much edge, following towards epic for the Progressive Metal Rock, but without getting overly aggressive around the instrumental arrangements. The Sweet Melody Of Resilience contains roughly 27 minutes, packed with wonderful compositions, all tracks are written and performed, split up into four chapters, its likely identify many musical styles including Melodic Metal, Symphonic Progressive Rock, Progressive Metal however completely with a whopping edge, following towards epic towards the Progressive Metal Rock, but without getting overly aggressive about the instrumental arrangements. I would like to claim that next album needs to have more extensive tracks, with a lot more time. You can bet that, soon, Myhybris and The Sweet Melody Of Resilience will be around the top of an important Prog Rock Band list around the globe. The Sweet Melody Of Resilience was launched in September 2008. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Vincent Thermidor for the Studio De La Tour Fine. Brilliant, amazing plus an indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz Il Cerchio dOro, from Savona, only released three singles in the end of the career, which have begun in 1974. Their beginnings were as the many symphonic oriented bands active within their area, which has a strong influence by Le Orme. In fact their surviving recordings even include some early tracks played to be a trio of keyboards/bass/drums. Unfortunately they couldnt can get a recording deal while still inside their progressive years, in addition to their only record releases are three singles, issued between 1977 and 1979, within a very commercial style. Two posthumous releases are of help to know this group, a 1999 CD by Mellow, with 12 tracks recorded around 1976, including their first single Quattro Mura, and three later tracks in the almost disco-style. Much better will be the recent LP La Quadratura del Cerchio, issued in 2005, which has 9 unreleased recordings, a few of which are covers of tracks by Le Orme, New Trolls, The Trip, in conjunction with some originals, reality they result from rehearsal tapes, they reveal good quality and arrangements. After twenty five years of silence the group found again the motivating force to get started on again playing while using original fall into line; hence they conceived the concept to write a perception album from the italian progressive rock style. Il Cerchio dOro finds inspirations in a number of musical sources, and within their approach, we can easily find many musical elements, specially created by famous and oldest Progressive Rock groups in the Italy. The band has were develop a fantastic instrumental orchestration, building a fresh Progressive Rock filled with Symphonism, stuffed of wonderful melodies. The bands instrumentation is made of melodic guitars, lots atmospheric keyboards, with soft chords with the bass, nice striking drums, including an angelic vocals adequately interpreted by Piuccio Pradal, Gino Terribile and Giuseppe Terribile. Il Cerchio dOro is really a band that probably need no guide to fans of old Italian Progressive Rock. Il Viagio Di Colombo album is a terrific journey into Progressive Rock world music, musicians, music, lyrics, arrangements, the art and illustration are fantastic, the tracks dont tell the story with the discovery on the new continent however the one of an outing, wished, sought out, and conquered, a challenging travel aggravated with the fear on the unknown. Its a metaphor of each mans life, together with his projects, disappointments, satisfactions of reaching the marks which will become the starting points to a new journey. If you like prog rock groups like Le Orme, New Trolls, Osanna, Trip, Il Balletto di Bronzo, Locanda Delle Fate, Banco Del Mutuo Socorso, Foglie Di Vetro and La Maschera Di Cera, certainly you'll love Il Cerchio dOro. Il Viaggio di Colombo album premiered in November 2008 by Black Widow Records, recorded by 50 percent formats Vynil and Cd Magipack. The musicians within the band are: Gino Terribile - Drums, Vocals, Giuseppe Terribile - Bass, Vocals, Franco Piccolini - Keyboards, Roberto Giordana - Guitar and Piuccio Pradal - Vocals. Brilliant, amazing, fantastic plus an indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz Strawberry Fields can be a rock band from Poland, formed in 2008 using a highly acclaimed musician Wojtek Szadkowski Collage, Satellite, Peter Pan, and displaying the voice of Robin Marta Kniewska. Strawberry Fields music can be a strange blend with the old along with the new, of rock guitars and soft keyboards, loops and psychedelic soundscapes. But precisely what is most important here may be the magical voice of Robin, an incredible female lead singer. Strawberry Fields is really a new revelation following inside the footsteps from the great British bands from the time Karnataka and Mostly Autumn ; they designed a delicate melodic progressive rock, brimming with melody with successful blend of instrumental symphonism, including an atmospheric pop, adorned with sensitive and emotional vocals, Strawberry Fields are simply formed by Collage and Satellite musicians, the instrumental arrangements follow in exactly the same line with their original bands, you can hear wonderful keyboards sounds, remembering some musical parts exactly as for the first Satellite and Collage s albuns, nevertheless the leadership within the group, plus the highlight is produced by Robin Marta Kniewska, her voice is astonishingly romantic and sexy. Rivers Gone Dry album incuding nine tracks, almost 50 min of pure musical symphonism, the album was composed, arranged and manufactured by Wojtek Szadkowski, lyrics by Robin Marta Kniewska. Released by Metal Mind Productions. A special and particular care about and my favourite songs are: Your Story, Close, Rivers Gone Dry, Fool, Open Your Eyes and Flow I think may be the best song about the album. Its an excellent album to the lovers of melodic and symphonic progressive rock bands. The musicians with this project are: Robin Marta Kniewska - Vocals, Sarhan Kubeisi Satellite - Guitars, Jarek Michalski Satellite - Bass Guitar, Wojtek Szadkowski Collage, Satellite, Peter Pan - Keyboards, Drums, Acc Guitar and Krzysiek Palczewski Satellite - Additional Keyboards. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The North American band 3RDegree was founded in 1990 by Robert James Pashman bass, keyboards, backing vocals and Robert Durham drummer; soon joined by Pat Kliesch guitars. In 1995, lead singer George Dobbs joined the trio ahead of the release from the first album Human Interest Story 1996. Without choosing a fan base, the group dissolved in 1997. By the end of 2005, several founding members made a decision to reunite and record again. They were in a position to reintegrate George Dobbs towards the band, along with 2007 they performed a show at NJ Proghouse that premiered on DVD and double CD The Reunion Concerts. In 2008 they finished their second self-produced studio album - Narrow-Caster. Seven songs on this CD were written on an unreleased album that will follow Human Interest History. The remaining three songs are new. I have heard to Narrow-Caster more often than not with much pleasure, I should say, but I was struggle to cast 3RDegree s chameleonic sound in to a predefined style. Although labeled by many to be a Progressive band, personally I dont trust that. Many typical traits of Progressive are absent symphonic, baroque, psychedelic, folk, medieval, exotic rhythms. The band itself cites a comprehensive list of influences, including some non-progressive bands Rush, Tears For Fears, Soundgarden, Kings X, Stevie Wonder, Level 42, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Alice In Chains, Todd Rundgren, Gentle Giant, Asia, Kevin Gilbert, Prefab Sprout, Spymob. The musicians mix those influences with their cauldron, adding mainly aspects of Hard Rock, Blues, Jazz, Fusion, Pop - and in many cases Progressive - to create groovy, lively and energetic compositions which are highly mutable and unpredictable. The sonority adhere to the musical trend on the end in the 70s to beginning on the 80s, when other bands were scheming to make their sound more digestible to new audiences Led Zeppelin with In Through the Out Door ; Gentle Giant with The Missing Piece ; Steely Dan with Aja ; Genesis with Duke ; Yes with 90125 and Marillion with Fugazi. But does that compromise the group performance? On the contrary, 3RDegree is in a position to perform highly sophisticated compositions that maintain your listener in constant state of surprise. Robert J. Pashman leads together with his powerful bass lines, in a very constant well rehearsed dialogue together with the ever unexpected guitars of Pat Kliesch. The excellent vocals of Mr. Dobbs he really knows what he or she is doing change from rocky and harsh to soft and pop, depending for the songs mood meanwhile he could be well supported through the wonderful harmonic backing vocals of his band mates. Behind the torrent, Robert Durham keeps everything united, anchoring with drums the complex melodic harmonies performed with the bass-guitar-keyboards instrumental trio. For my taste, the most effective songs are: the opening track Apophenia with unexpected alternation of heavy and subtle parts; Live With This Forever with extraordinary vocals of Mr. Dobbs check inside their web site; Cautionary Tale with beautiful harmony vocals and guitar solos and Free For All almost hair band, with aggressive bass and vocals. In second place, although not diminished ahead of the others, are: It Works jazzy and The Proverbial Banana Peel a challenging rock with ironic lyrics. The audiences that appreciate softer songs will quickly realize the ballads Narrow-Caster bitter, Young Once by progressive keyboards and Scenery created from acoustic guitar and harmony vocals very pleasant on the listening. The album finishes with The Last Gasp one of the most progressive a record of all with voyaging and confidential tones, as well as a brief symphonic session from your middle on the end. With this technology, 3RDegree achieves successfully its aim: to make music that may be challenging to try out and at the identical time is memorable and singable. Although as being a thousand times much better than many rock bands in the mainstream, 3RDegree is constantly knock from door to door, looking for an audience and all sorts of they are requesting is to people stop as it were and pay attention for their music. If stations start to experience them, their audience will automatically turn up. Recommended for those open-minded music fans. Band members and collaborators involved with 3rdegree are Robert James Pashman Bass, Keyboards and Vocals, George Dobbs Vocals, Keyboards, Robert Durham Drums, Percussion, Pat Kliesch Guitars, Vocals, Veronica Puleo additional backing vocals on The Last Gasp, Dan DElia Drums on Narrow-Caster and The Last Comments by Marcelo Trotta The Sol Surfers were formed in 2007, Boerne, Texas, by Lynn Stokes to showcase new original material. All members on the group have extensive professional experience performing live for a long time. The band plays original songs having a classic rock feel blending the sounds of soul music together with the rhythms and chord structure of surf-rock and new-age, retro-psychedelic. Spending his conception in Austin, Texas within the 1970s allowed hin to see and witness a multitude of exceptional musicians and musical trends; on the Cosmic Cowboy country scare towards the electric blues revival in the Vaughan brothers. Concentrating mainly like a guitar player led me to playing using a variety of bands and musical styles throughout his career and dealing with talented songwriters whose songwriting crafts failed to go unnoticed. One in the highlights of such days was opening for Bob Dylan in 1991 when in front of 5000 people and becoming great reviews inside music press. Lynn Stokes may be successfully building a name for himself during the entire USA prog music circuit, being a talented musician and also a exceptional songwriter. Clearly his music is indeed versatile and deliver various musical aspects, developed with a superb orchestration, we could find portions of Progressive Rock, Aor, Symphonic Melodic Rock, Classic Rock, New Age and Space Music. After two considered albuns, his new work titled as Terra Nocturne, would be the story of an outing through the emotions and transcendental experiences, which transpire during one particularly lucid evening. The musical style written with this album, draws a wonderful demonstration of Melodic Symphonic Progressive Rock, Space Music and Classical Rock, brimming with exciting guitars solos, amazing keyboards sounds, associated with atmospheric instrumental section, the place that the musical arrangements reminds me a little something very near to Pink Floyd s albuns Wish You Were Here, Animals and A Momentary Lapse Of Reason. Terra Nocturne was created by Lynn Stokes, recorded by Spencer Ramzel at 6th Street Studio, San Antonio, Texas, mixed and mastered by Roland St. John Perez, all songs compiled by Lynn Stokes, except Sacred Moon s Light lyrics by Stone Bryson and Dream Sequencer by Lynn Stokes and Roland St. John Perez. Including nine tracks, among 53 min, really filled with pure emotions. A special and particular focus on and my favourite songs are: Sacred Moons Light, was selected through the Progressive Rock Hall of Fame being included into their forthcoming compilation CD, Soundscapes Volume One, and was mailed to 1000 record labels, reviewers and radio stations all over the world, Terra Nocturne, Where Have You Gone, Let Go This song has become selected by Versailles Records for being included for their upcoming compilation CD Road TRIP Rock Vol. 1/2., Open Door, American Dream and Across the Barrier. In fact, Terra Nocturne will likely be enjoyed by fans of progressive rock music together with the symphonic atmosphere in the identical line of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Roger Waters and Yes. You can visit Lynn Stokes Sol Surfers at . RadioIndy is content to present Lynn Stokes Sol Surfers which has a GrIndie Award with the CD Terra Nocturne. The musicians with this project are: Lynn Stokes - Guitars and Vocals, Mike Orbelo - Bass Guitar, Roland St. John Perez - Keyboards and Sythesizers, Kevin Cooley - Drums, Jerry Savoy - Saxophone, Dean Evans - Flute, Lisa Stokes - Vocals Chorus and Phil Grota - Flute on The Crossing. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The North American progressive band Tiles was formed in 1993 in Detroit, Michigan. The first CD Tiles Polydor - Dream Circle label was published only in 1995. The band then signed together with the Progressive label InsideOut Music/SPV and released three more CDs, all produced and engineered by Terry Brown Rush, Fates Warning, Alannah Myles. Fence the Clear 1997 was wonderfully received by fans as well as the specialized press; Presents of Mind 1999 brought this kind of good performance of the group that generated a party invitation from Dream Theater to look at their 1999 European tour; and Window Dressing 2004 was nominated for the Detroit Musical Award in 2005. In 2004 those first three CDs were re-mastered and reissued as Special Editions, featuring bonus tracks. At this point, Tiles had already gained much recognition from Progressive fans and had also been collecting compliments from important musicians like Ian Anderson Jethro Tull and Mike Portnoy Dream Theater. The fifth album Fly Paper 2008 was also that is generated by Terry Brown and counted with participation of numerous special guests: Alannah Myles on vocals; Kim Mitchell and Alex Lifeson on guitars; Matthew Parmenter on keyboards and vocals; Sonya Mastick on percussion; and Hugh Syme, who, besides being responsible for your albums artwork, played keyboards upon it. With a sonority that's very similar to bands like Rush, IQ, Rocket Scientists, Kings X, and Dream Theater, Tiles stays well balanced about the border between hard progressive and progressive metal, never pending to your side. The time spanned involving the previous release which one has had a maturation effect about the musicians being a whole, for they seem more perfectly integrated together than no time before. The outcome is often a series of compositions which can be very complex, both rhythmically and harmonically, and profuse in guitar solos. With the powerful guitar riffs of Chris Hering, the ride bass lines of Jeff Whittle very inspired by Geddy Lees style, and also the heavy - but always technically played - drums of Mark Evans, Tiles develop a harsh matrix of Hard Rock by which the cool and remarkable voice of Paul Rarick arises to express to us stories regarding the human condition. The tracks of Fly Paper are organized in 2 sections. The first four songs are definitely more direct and heavier, with predominance of guitar, bass and drums. Songs like Hide around my Shadow ; Sacred Mundane with Alex Lifeson adding some lively guitar solos; Back Forth a regrettable half-ballad featuring Alannah Myles on backing vocals and Landscape with Nate Mills on backing vocals gradually prepare the listener for what's coming up next. The second section on the record brings one of the most creative and progressive songs, that happen to be enriched by keyboards, long guitar solos and instrumental parts. The best tracks belong here: Markers, Hide Seek both full of diverse keyboards by Matthew Parmenter and Dragons, Dreams Daring Deeds featuring Kim Mitchell on guitars have killing guitar riffs and bass lines that happen to be strongly relying on Rush. This section still brings Crowded Emptiness - a ballad where Matthew Parmenter takes the vocals, letting the keyboards for Hugh Syme, who also plays on Passing Notes an extra track featured only inside the initial pressing of Fly Paper. With this era, Tiles stands as the greatest bands from the North American hard-progressive scene. Their sound are going to be appreciated by fans that, form bands cited above, like The Flower Kings, The Tangent, Karmakanic, Enchant, Spocks Beard Band members and collaborators linked to Tiles are Paul Rarick Vocals, Chris Herin - Guitars, Mandolin, Keyboards, Jeff Whittle Bass and Mark Evans Drums, Percussion. Guest musicians : Alex Lifeson Guitars track 2, Alannah Myles Vocals track 3, Kim Mitchell - Guitar track 6, Hugh Syme - Artwork and Keyboards tracks 7 and 9, Sonya Mastik - Percussion, Matthew Parmenter Keyboards tracks 5 and 8; Vocals track 7, and Nate Mills Vocals track Comments by Marcelo Trotta Fractal first convened in November of 2000 due to a friend, Adrian Cockcroft, who posted an invite on Pauls behalf on King Crimson enthusiast site Elephant Talk in San Jose, San Francisco, California. Nic and Jim were the very first two to react, and strangely enough the 3 have been together subsequently. It was over a little fortuitous that this type of unlikely grouping Paul having just moved from your UK, Jim from Baltimore, and Nic on the Netherlands has resulted in a real well-balanced complement of talents and musical personalities. Fractal started gigging in summer of 2001 and has now continued intermittently since. In July of 2002, they started recordings for first album, Continuum. A few years after their instrumental debut Continuum, plus a year following a promising single Aftermath, Fractal have returned with their second full album, featuring this guitar rock band as it may be operating live since 2004. Fractal continues to be together in the current formation since 2004 starting out as being a trio in 2000. Fractal is usually a concept of contemporary prog band using a strong instrumental, may adequately fall somewhere amongst Progressive Rock, Experimental Music and Avant-garde, adding Electronic Ambient textures as well as other sound effects, everything turning across the footsteps of King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Gong, Magma while others in the identical style. They understand how to create intriguing arrangements, having a strong musical interchange and interconnected lines relating to the keyboards, guitar, bass and drums, with multiple orchestral parts and refined instrumental, giving the tunes a very special atmosphere, but very complex too. Sequitur incorporates a little of each one musical style, 1 hour tends for being melodic, but rapidly tends being very complex and experimental. Its not very easy to make comparisons for some other bands, but, we could say the music with this album it had been created specifically for all listeners well connected with Experimental musics groups. Sequitur album was recorded throughout the Bay Area, California, USA. Produced by Fractal, Engineering, mixing and mastering bu Paul Strong. Cover design by Paul Strong. A special and particular focus on and my favourite songs are: Ellipsis, Aftermath, Mantra: Eternal Spring of Life, Giving Tree, A Fraction of One, The Monkeys Paw and Churn - Overture, Part I, II and III. The complet Line Up on Fractal band are: Paul Strong - Roland V-Drums along with noises, Jim Mallonee - Bass, Synthesizers, Vocals, Nic Roozeboom - Guitar, Guitar Synth, Loops and Josh Friedman - Guitar, Vocals. Supported by : Adrian Cockcroft - Live recordings, Miscellaneous Encouragements and Rolf Bienert - Live Sound. Paul and Adrian are British, Nic is Dutch, Jim and Josh are American, and Rolf is German. Josh is really a professional musician classical guitar, most of them have day-jobs in numerous hi-tech companies. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The French band Amartia was formed in 1999, when Vincent Vercaigne guitar and Nicolas Sion bass released a self-produced demo: In the Meantime. In 2002, with participation of Marielle Duroule vocals and Vincent Duparcq drums, this rock band released the primary album, entitled Ma eutics Thundering Records written by Musea. After some changes inside the line-up, occurance finally stabilized with Vincent Vercaigne the sole original member left; German singer Britta Herzog, Nicolas Dubois drums, Cyril Carrette keyboards and piano, and Manu Berdin bass. With this formation, this rock band released an extra album Marionnette 2006 Thundering Records, which brought Amartia prior to eyes from the public just as one innovative act from the female-fronted gothic metal scene. The third CD Delicately 2009, Gofannon Records Label, provided by Socadisc features a similar line-up, unless from the switch of Manu Berdin for first time bassist Alex. By searching inspiration inside oneiric world, Amartia arises with excellent tracks that blend Gothic, Darkwave, Ethereal, Atmospheric, Progressive and Melodic Heavy Metal. The sonority is relying on bands like The Gathering, Agua de Annique, Epica, Stream of Passion, The Old Dead Tree, resembling also bands like Erben der Sh pfung, Nemesea, Xandria, Elis and Eyes of Eden. But what exactly is really surprising would be the new approach of Amartia towards the Gothic Metal style. All musicians are seriously dedicated to blow fresh air towards the genre and they also do it in the typical French manner with refined sophistication and originality. The songs have long instrumental parts and sophisticated harmonies, and so are plentiful of long melodic guitar and keyboards solos something almost non-existing with this kind of genre. The incredible voice of Britta Herzog reaches a tone that stands among Anneke van Giersbergen, Marcela Bovio, Simone Simons, and Manda Ophuis, being equally technical and charming. By alternating between bitter and delicate moods, Britta is capable of doing singing from jazzy to melancholic emotional melodies, working being a counterweight for the guitar of Vincent, who also expresses himself amazingly within a varied palette of styles from Melodic Heavy Metal to Ethereal Progressive. Keyboardist Ciryl Carrette stays inside harmonic background, adding different flavors that cover anything from electronic and progressive keyboards to melancholic, tearful piano passages and ethereal chords that evoke a form of dark mythic atmosphere. The rhythmic section is well done by Nicolas very technical, his performance is reasonably hard-jazzy than heavy - and Alex, who stays well integrated to your harmonic background. The era brings 11 good quality tracks, distributed in several subgenres. The title track Delicately - opens the album and well represents the bands sonority, blending heavy guitars, electronic keyboards and checking out the mesmerizing voice of Britta. Her singing style unveils the strong influence of Anneke van Giersbergen for the ethereal Grey Circles, the heavy Your Attention along with the melancholic Accuracy. The sad Dont be Sorry brings unexpected bitter jazzy vocals from Britta and melodic guitar solos of Vincent, standing as among the best songs. The album retains some easy-listening songs, like Not a Detail that has a bit pop-rock chorus, supported, however, by long guitar and keyboard solos; plus the ballad Another with many parts that reminds me of Renaissance. And just showing how different Amartia comes from other bands, this album brings for around three ! whole instrumental pieces something really peculiar for female-fronted bands. Hightech Human incorporates a military drumming that reminds me in the instrumental intros in the Heavy Metal albums on the 80s, while Spring Evolution flirts with modern progressive metal. A Quiet Place is usually a classical classical guitar solo that peacefully introduces another best track: Rains End - huge composition by incorporating electronic percussion and alternation of incisive guitar and synthesizer solos. The innovative path chosen by Amartia will definitely attract Gothic Metal lovers which can be eager to concentrate something fresh. Amartia is very recommended for fans of Gothic, Ethereal, Atmospheric and Melodic Metal. Todau the group members on Amartia are Britta Herzog Vocals, Vincent Vercaigne - Guitars, Backing Vocals, Cyril Carrette Keyboards, Piano, Nicolas Dubois Drums, Percussion and Backing Vocals and Alex Bass Comments by Marcelo Trotta Giorgio C. Neri born in Genova inside mid 1960s, he's considered as being a talented multi-instrumentalist and composer whose musical influences cover anything from many genres and designs, his musical scope can be described as a possible extraordinary one man band, developing a special musical signature, using all the fundamental ingredients for example powerful orchestration and high instrumentation, contrasting with Epic, Symphonic, Progressive, Folk, Electronic and Classical influences, which has a strong feeling to your melodic and atmospheric music, found only inside most famous and traditional Italian bands on the 70s. The music is very dominated by lush synth/keyboards, that features a stunning instrumental performance, adding incredible guitar solos and solid drums. In closing, I would definately recomend Giorgio C. Neri with the exceptional album Logos, to all or any types of Progressive Rock fans who love the tunes of Le Orme, Premiata Forneria Marconi, Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, Museo Rosenbach, Il Balletto di Bronzo, Reale Accademia Di Musica, Goblin, Formula 3, Biglietto Per Linferno, Campo Di Marte, Corte Dei Miracoli, Latte E Miele and New Trolls. Logos could be the debut album of, who also played each of the instruments, except the drums, performed by Roberto Maragliano, a remarkable spiritual travel planned using a musician who's got always thought music may be the last voice on the divine, a communication capable to gift some respite to our poor souls which sublimates itself as being a sort of sonic prayer. Logos contains thirteen interesting tracks, these people have a tasteful, the perfect musical balance that may only be described for an amazing Progressive Rock masterpiece. Its an excellent album which comes in another surprising Black Widow tri-fold digipak. The completet line-up about this project are: Giorgio C. Neri Acoustic Guitars 6 12 Strings, Electtric Guitar, Classic Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Dulcimer, Piano, Keyboards, Sequencer, Flute, Percussions, Compositions and Arrangements, Roberto Maragliano Drums, Giuseppe Alvaro Vocals on Tuona il cannone, Gian Castello Flute on Tuona il cannone, Vittorio Ristagno Vocals on Seconda navigazione and Per tutti e per nessuno and Roberto Tiranti Vocals on Tuona il cannone. Brilliant and and amazing, a vital work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz Formed in 2002, The Wrong Object is really a Belgian heavy avant-prog-jazz-rock quintet which began their musical activity being a Frank Zappa tribute band, but switched to creating their own combination of original repertoire. Stories From The Shed may be the third full-fledged official release because of the band, though both its predecessors, The Unbelievable Truth and Platform One, are in truth the products with their collaborations with Elton Dean and Annie Whitehead, respectively. This album marks a return to your rockier and densely overdriven stance that characterized the bands earlier productions. With influences between Zappas whimsical complexities to Squarepushers glitchy electronics, from Soft Machine and Electric Miles to Stravinsky and B la Bartok, Stories From The Shed will surprise using its genre-defying compositions, eclectic jam improvisations and intricate arrangements. Listen carefully all songs you must employ a special focus on Sonic Riot on the Holy Palate, 15/05, Sheepwrecked, Strangler Fig and Waves and Radiations will cause an exceptionally good injury to your ears. The Wrong Object is undoubtedly an excellent addition towards the growing catalog of Moonjune Records. The members around the band are: Michel Delville - Guitar, Guitar-Synth, Loops, Electronics, Fred Delplancq - Tenor Sax, Jean-Paul Esti venart - Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Damien Polard - Bass, Electronics, Samples and Laurent Delchambre - Drums, Percussions and The Polish band Gargantua released their first album - Gargantua - in 2003 view the review in this particular site. It soon became clear this band would attract much attention for the unconventional and artistic work. Owner of an style that can not be easily labeled or classified, Gargantua is certainly one of those bands that may never reach commercial success, remaining instead inside selected sphere in the cult bands. Nevertheless, courageous bands like Gargantua can be extremely necessary to Music itself, for they push experimentalism to its best, bringing much innovation on the regular scenario. In their second album Kotegarda the tunes turned the other way up released in 2007 with the independent label Roadkill Music Gargantua explores the ooze settled within the depths in the musical ocean to create out a fossilized deep-see anglerfish - a metaphor in the strangeness of Gargantua s music - which can be displayed within the sleeve design with the album like a bait to capture the unconventional listener who is looking for musical novelty. Difficult to describe, the songs of Kotegarda could perfectly fit as musical representations in the impossible structures depicted by Dutch artist Escher in their lithographs; or they can be used since the soundtrack of any film concerning the life of Rabelais and his most well-known characters - Gargantua and Pantagruel. The sound is usually instrumental - a mixture of modern music, jazz, rock and chamber music, with inspiration in literature texts. Vocals, when present, are reduced to syllabic vocalizations or related to something referred as facial noise within the credits. With unexpected drumming and percussion, mocking violin passages, unpredictable keyboard melodies, elusive bass phrasings, surprising guitar solos, and intermittent interventions of vocal effects, the musicians appear to play independently from the other. At first, in this way of performing increases the impression that the background music is unstructured and chaotic, but once the ears become accustomed to it, you'll realize which the notes usually are not executed randomly, but follow a pattern in which most of us are unfamiliar with. The abusive by using unusual techniques dissonance, odd rhythms, polyrhythms, mixed meters, unorthodox harmonies, altered chords and polyphony places Gargantua alongside each other with bands like Univers Zero as true representatives on the Rock in Opposition progressive style. The album has 10 tracks, even so the short pieces generally known as Kotegarda, I, II and III are only instrumental interludes. The remaining seven tracks are settled at the high standard. My favorites are Wzdy Czelestnik the opening movement and also the first shock; Interrferrometerr brain and ears set out to assimilate the sound, The Augurs of Spring - Dances from the Young Girls a good adaptation of Stravinsky s composition that tells quite clearly the orientation of this guitar rock band, Paralaksy Dyzaskorufin having a spooky terror-movie-like mood and Gargoyles the longest composition, brimming with dissonances and somber melodies. By the end from the hearing you might be already converted with a devoted fan of this rock band. Gargantua is tremendously recommended for fans of King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Univers Zero, Rock-In-Opposition and Avant-Guard Progressive styles. The folks Gargantua are: Marcin Borowski - Drums, Facial Noise, Whistle, Tylda Ciolkosz - Violin, Facial Noise, Vocals, Pawel Kubica - Keyboard, Facial Noise, Rain, Leszek Mrozowski - Bass Guitar - Bartek Zeman - Guitar, Sustainer, Facial Noise. Comments by Marcelo Trotta The musical project called Il Bacio Della Medusa Medusas Kiss begins for the end of summer of 2002, around the north-west bank of Trasimeno, a lake at the city of Perugia Italy. They want to restore artistic dignity for the musical arrangement and lyrics finding music inspiratin through the great Progressive Rock band of 70th and lyrics inspiration by italian song singer-writers as Fabrizio de Andr, Branduardi etc. After a long creative season, in June 2004 the Il Bacio Della Medusa completed its first work, the homonymous Il Bacio Della Medusa. In December 2004 this rock band won a rock contest, Rock n Centro organized from the municipality on the city of Perugia, that all the most effective groups in the region have partecipated. They also won this short stay in Aix en Provance France and also the opportunity to get live concert there. Il Bacio Della Medusa knows how to make a fine music which has a vintage sound, fresh and exciting, an perfect mixture of Progressive Rock, Art Rock and Hard Rock, sometimes packed with symphonism, using a touch of Jazz Fuzion. The band features a sophisticated instrumental, including many in the best attributes of early 70s, the spot that the musicians combine a robust sense of melody, exploring many deep arrangements, with an excellent connection between every one of the instruments. The latest album, Discesa Aglinferi Dun Giovane Amante, delivers an delightful music, using the most effective Progressive Rock style, very dynamic and totaly symphonic, which has a monumental keyboard work, dominant beginners guitar solos, passionate vocals by Simone Cecchini, in close harmony with bass and drums, accompanied by beautiful flute passages, inside the similar explorations by Jethro Tull, whilst the violin flights, considering the sounds a dreamy textures. In fact, their incredible musicianship and technical level defines ll Bacio Della Medusa as the amazing Progressive Rock band who have appeared these previous years. If you enjoy Progressive Rock in a similar musical distinct: Premiata Forneria Marconi, Banco, Museo Rosenbach, Delirium, The Trip, Campo Di Marte, Il Rovescio Della Medaglia Biglietto Per L inferno, Osanna, Locanda Delle Fate, Foglie Di Vetro, Malibran, Monte Feltro, H 2 O, Nuova Era and La Maschera Di Cera, will definitely must give you a special focus on ll Bacio Della Medusa. The musicians for the band are: Simone Cecchini - Voce, Chitarra Acustica 6 12 corde, Chitarra Classica, Sax Tenore, Cori, Simone Brozzetti - Chitarra Elettrica, Federico Caprai - Basso, Diego Petrini - Batteria, Organo, Tastiere, Piano, Vibrafono, Percussioni, Eva Morelli - Flauto Traverso, Ottavino, Daniele Rinchi - Violino, Viola. Brilliant amazing along with an indispensable work, highly recommendable for many progressive fans throughout the Comments by Carlos Vaz Presence formed noisy . 90s, once they completed their first recording, the theory EP The Shadowing. The group include things like three well know Neapolitan session musicians. All three musicians are musically trained, sight-readers. What makes Presence unique of peers will be the emphasis they've placed on the musical studies, Sophya Baccini, daughter of your tenor, worked as a chef continuously for great her vocal technique, then blues-oriented, complementing it with operatic studies. Enrico Iglio, who represents the next generation of an musical family, attended a personal Musical Academy, studying percussion, composing, and orchestration. Sergio Casamassima, also belonging to your third generation of the musical family, studied classical guitar and is often a graduate of Los Angeles Guitar Institute of Technology. Presence can be an italian band that fuse perfectly Progressive Rock, Art Rock with strong symphonic elements, occasionally introducing some Gothic and Dark Power Metal edge into their sound. The musicians, within the band, created some consistently awesome instrumental compositions, sometimes the instrumentation tend being very complex, with intricate arrangements, adding creative dark/metal/gothical textures, sometimes highly symphonic, melodic and atmospheric, featuring amazing interplay between symphonic keyboard orchestrations and melodically tasty guitar sounds, though the other highlights include the extraordinary, predominant, sensual and enigmatic vocals from Sophya Baccini that sounds epic and medieval. Evil Rose is usually a powerful, energetic and symphonic album, which clearly shows the musicians display a wealthy and varied soundscape that has a surprising talent in composing orchestral symphonies. Everything is implemented to lead us through an extremely special universe, stuffed with innovative instrumental ideas, sophisticated orchestration and memorable vocal lines. Is not very easy define their musical influences, but we are able to hear a bit Emerson Lake Palmer and King Crimson, passages in many songs. Evil Rose may be the 7th official Presence album and was launched in May 2008 by Black Widow Records. All songs arranged by Presence. Recorded at Hellish Studio, Napoli, Italy. You must definitely listen carefully all songs, but a particular focus to my favourite songs are: Cassandra, Evil Rose The best song within the album, Subterreans, The prophets Song, Gates of Babylon and Orphic, almost 69 min long album with pure energy, coupled with epical intrumental trips. The musicians about the band are: Sophya Baccini - Vocals, Sergio Casamassima - Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Enrico Iglio - Keyboards and to be a Special Guest Valerio Silenzi - Drums. Brilliant as well as an indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The North American band Alitheia was founded in 2001 in Miami, Florida by guitarist Raul Valentine, bassist Ricardo Diaz-Albertini and vocalist Alfredo Vicente. The line-up was carried out in 2006 by drummer Xavier Vanegas. In 2008 Alitheia released a debut album, Chthonick that has been produced through the band itself. The word stems through the Greek khthonios, which suggests Belonging on the Earth or relating towards the gods and spirits in the underworld. Chthonic is another Psychological term referring towards the primitive, instinctual, unconscious aspect in the self that may be in search of personal evolution In this regard, the term mirrors the musical aspirations of this rock band, whose songs approach complex themes for instance self-consciousness, evolution on the being, questioning in regards to the meaning of existence and impressions concerning the universal a sense life and death. The album has 6 long tracks - each one of these lasting from 7 to 9 minutes in average - that demonstrate to the musical proposal of Alitheia : a fusion of Progmetal, Techmetal, and Dark-Progressive, following your style of influential bands including Dream Theater, Watchtower, Spastic Ink, Event, and Riverside. Songs like Sanctum with the Symbol and Penumbra have powerful progmetal guitar riffs, whilst in Solid of Revolution and Root of Infinity the melancholic and hypnotic guitar, psychedelic bass and primeval drumming furnish a regular dark-progressive mood. The best songs are definitely the last two: The Empty Set brings somewhat more difficult instrumental parts - including melancholic bass soloing - and changes of rhythm for the middle; and Potamos is highlighted with the powerful guitar riffs, aggressive vocals, some oriental and progressive atmospheric guitar passages, which can be bordered by intricate drums and bass. Although one cannot expect must perfection of an debut album, the instrumental background constructed by bassist Ricardo Diaz-Albertini and drummer Xavier Vanegas informs us that Alitheia has been evolving towards the right direction and it has much possible ways to explore inside future. They continue to have some effort to do, particularly Alfredo Vicente, whose vocals remain not well integrated in the bands musicality. Better studio production is required, especially regarding voice equalization. Band people Alitheia are: Alfredo Vicente - Vocals, Raul Valentine - Guitars, Ricardo Diaz-Albertini - bass and Xavier Vanegas - drums and Comments by Marcelo Trotta The Danish band Xcentrik debuted in 2007 while using album Welcome for the War, which has been released with the independent Label BioMechanical Music. The style ranges from Hard Rock to Thrash Metal, being very reminiscent with the heavy metal on the 80s. Guitar player Jan Weincke composes some heavy guitar riffs, mainly affected by bands including Megadeth, and Savatage. He can also be on duty with the vocals, varying from somber and dark tones to theatrical interpretation, within a kind of Type O Negative style. Other band members, Niels W. Knudsen bass and Valentino Olsen drums are wonderful musicians and follow the identical influences, giving weight and versatility to your whole album. The opening track, Welcome towards the War, can be a Power Progressive Metal piece. The following songs Domino and Gertrudestein slow up the tempo to some traditional heavy rhythm, bringing dark passages of bass. From this point on, the style in the compositions vary in Sweet Idol with cool, ironic vocals plus a different jazzy rhythm section and Spinning a difficult rock piece. Color and Light sounds newer and industrial having its megaphone/electronic vocals. Fabulous Machine is often a ballad which encloses the top guitar solo in the entire album. Vanity returns for the dark, aerobics vain, and The End of Nowhere closes the circle bringing a dark-progressive melancholic atmosphere - and good passages of bass and guitar solos. The band has good possible ways to go forwards specially concerning the interpretative vocal skills of Jan Weincke but nevertheless needs a hit something like that more original to call the attention on the general public upon it. The variety of composition styles, however, is proof that Xcentrik is searching for just a formula to acquire its place inside the metal scene. The musicians linked to Xcentrik are: Jan Weincke - Guitars and Vocals, Niels W. Knudsen - Bass, Valentino Olsen - Drums, Casper Bausager - Comments by Marcelo Trotta H bitat began within the early 80s when this rock band stopped their activity with two concerts at General San Martin Cultural Center, in October 1984. In those concerts additionally they played soft moments of ancient music with lute too. A brief second period occurred in 1987 by incorporating new musicians. This audio was used much more rhythm. But they performed just four shows at pubs, recording a demo with two songs. In those periods H bitat played a symphonic and progressive rock emphatising in melodies, writing in literary aspect fantastic images inspired on Tolkiens Book, with words in Spanish. The era began in 1994, Historias Oliviadas Forgottem Stories, their first independent production, includes old songs from two other periods played it with new arrangements. Historias Oliviadas was published in cassette in September 1997 and for that reason in CD October 1998 with four live bonus tracks. Ba l Repleto De Sugerencias Chest Filled Up With Suggestions, the other production, was already released in June 2001. A darker music as opposed to former one, with new sounds and tendences. The third Album Puente Bridge, released in October 2006, includes essentially the most powerful songs. H bitat originated in Argentina and combines the finest aspects of Symphonic Progressive Rock, Melodic Rock and Folk. The band, in lots of musical parts, forges a symphonic melodic sound showing constantly various sounds, always traveling in the european progressive rock arrangements, at the identical time following all traditions into your Latin America Progressive Rock style. Their music is really personal, sincere, original and truely enjoyable, filled with musical textures, complex harmonics and elaborately arranged compositions, featuring vibrant interplay between guitars and symphonic keyboards, the strong point for the music could be the varied instrumentation, wonderfully played by Aldo Pinelli, a musician who display a particular talent, a hunter and researcher of differents symphonic sounds, all vocals have been in Spanish, but that isnt an issue at all, because the songs is highly evocative and colorful that reminds me many Pablo El Enterrador, Crucis, Banana, Espiritu, Invisible, Agnus, Mia and Alas. Puente was published in October 2006. Recorded at Tapir II Studio, Adrogu, Buenos Aires in March, May and December 2003, January 2004 and from April to September 2006. 2.21 Studio from June to September 2004, MarchDecember 2005 and June and August 2006, including ten tracks. A special and particular focus on and my favourite songs are: Puentes, Requiem, Juguetes Durante El D a, Labradora Espacial, La ltima De Las Ara as Buenas around my opinion, the most beneficial song for the album and Guardianes Del Jard n. The line up for the album are: Ricardo Henestroza - Keyboards and Chorus, Aldo Pinelli - Voices, Bass, Nylon, Acoustic And Electric Guitars, Tambourine, Rainstick, Triangle, Hindu Drum And Ocasional Keyboard and Mario Pugliese - Drums. Guest musicians are: Enrique Hittos - Lute, Juani Guzzo - Keyboards and Roberto Sambrizzi - Drums. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The first official release by Argentinean band Sacrum, arrived without supporting material. Overall, it may be safe to mention that it album finds its makers taking for that most part after the design and style established by Dream Theater, though they definitely having their very own, quite specific vision of computer, lavishly spicing it with techno thrash and progressive doom metal devices, placing a somewhat greater emphasis for the diversity of riffing together with temporal produced from tempo, if that you are willing to accept this pseudo-neologism shifts than around the soloing battles between instruments. Played inside a more aggressive and abrasive way than others in classic contemporary Prog-Metal, playing the guitar riffs here remind me structurally of your crossover involving the aforesaid band, early Pain Of Salvation, early-90s Voivod and classic Threshold. In the end, comparisons with Black Sabbath have reached times inevitable also, some moves instantly bringing me mentally back for their Born Again album. With their raging, ultra-hard guitar riffs several of which are really monumental, powerful drum beats and throbbing bass, Translation, The Dream Prisoner, Stay, Made As One and Innerself are common extremely intensive and busy compositions, form of turbulent heavy waters with usually just one tiny island of calmness into their midst. Since each combines, say, a conventional progressive finesse with raw energy, I can present you with one more expression like a comparison: a hybrid from a hi-tech computer as well as a quarry bulldozer. Standing out for most airy, seemingly fragile, sonic constructions of any largely acoustic nature involving piano, classical guitar and synthesizer strings, as well as being a couple of keyboards-laden, more widely used from the genre, basically symphonic instrumental interludes, the song bearing a similar title as this rock band does is all senses probably the most diverse and also compelling track here and may be the one that just keeps changing. While featuring fewer acoustically-driven moves, In Memory remains to be a classy prog-metal opus, in numerous ways a lot like Sacrum, almost irresistible to use turn. Unlike 5 songs described first, where Estanislao Silveyra sings stably in the classically-restrained manner not as dissimilar to James La Bries, those two depict him as being a possessor of the amazingly broad voice diapason, sounding equally convincing whether he provides high-pitched vocals or assumes on a black metal screaming, to repeat the least. Its a pity that Silveyra wasnt able to display his chameleonic abilities on each of the heavier songs within the disc this is why it didnt have the highest rating. The more or less solid level of guitar histrionics is merely featured within the track that provides the recording its title. The sole instrumental here, Cognition does not maintain your bands basic stylistic course throughout, on occasion evolving for an art-rock piece; plus there's also some emotional bluesy guitar leads developing alongside the piano passages. Featuring only piano, classical guitar and vocals, the closing track, No Turning Back, is really a thoughtful atmospheric ballad. A minor masterwork in their category, that is generally an exceptionally apt conclusion to the disc, especially considering how heavy the rest tracks are. Ther Line Up about the band are: Martin Guerrera - Guitars; Backing Vocals, Estanislao Silveyra - Lead Vocals, Mariano Herraiz - Keyboards, Agustin Acosta - Drums and Diego Cipolla - Comments by Marcelo Martins Fen has laboured to get a decade on three recordings, they're come from Canada. The latest, Congenital Fixation is often a Freudian-esque phantasmagoria, an acid drop in the subconscious, vividly rendered. Before this, came Heron Leg, a tale of incest and matricide, which Discorder Magazine has called considered one of those great CDs the listener could possibly get into a lot more deeply as buried info is unearthed. Three years prior, the debut release, Surgical Transfusion of Molting Sensory Reflections, identified Fen as really the only band of its kind for the coast The Nerve Magazine, likely due towards the abundance of odd time signatures and through-composed song forms. Fen is often a band with endless potential and chance to become one on the great modern Rock bands. They can be a band which will draw the listener by using a mesmerizing, sonic voyage of varied instrumental emotions, their music oscillates between styles for instance Alternative Metal, Art Rock, Progressive Rock, Hard Rock with touchs of the Melodic Heavy Metal edge. Fen provides a sound that combines epic cinematic compositions, vibrant and thundering drums, dominated by guitars solos, sometimes aggressive sometimes symphonic and melodic. This is often a band thats obviously very related to songwriting and arrangement unlike a lot of todays new prog rock bands. Fen play a form of musical style that needs to be familiar to fans of groups like System of your Down, Frost, RPWL, Pain of Salvation, Arena, Blind Ego and Paatos. Congenital Fixation album was published in 2006. Produced and Mixed by Fen with Mike Southworth at Creative Recording Studio In North Vancouver, mastered by Jamie Sitar at Suite Sound Labs, all songs writen by Stam Levin and Doug Harrison, Bass arrangements by Jeff Caron and Mike Young, lyics by Doug Harrison. Including nine tracks among 38 minutes for Hard and Heavy Rock music. A special and particular care about and my favourite songs are: Cockroach Eyelids, Hermit Hole, Fossil Bed, Rubicon Iris, Pit Trap, Hourglass Desert is on with the best for the album and The Orchard. You can hear some MP3s checking their Myspace site. The main musicians within the band are: Doug Harrison - Voice, Guitar and Songs, Sam Levin - Guitar and Songs, Jeff Caron - Bass, Mandola, Vibes and Randall Stoll - Drums. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The Progressive band Serpentina Sat lite was formed in 2003 from the city of Lima, Peru. It debuted officially through the end of 2004 while using release with the first EP titled Long Play, which featured 5 songs. In the following years the group appeared constantly in festivals in the local underground scene. In 2007, Serpentina Sat lite recorded fresh songs that were later mastered at Perplex Tonstudio, in Walldorf, Germany the identical studio where influential bands from the German Progressive scene, for instance Guru Guru, Embryo and Kraan had already done much of these work. The outcome would be a new EP, entitled Nothing to Say, which was already released in 2008 from the independent label Trip in Time furnished by World in Sound, Germany. Along using the curiosity of to be a progressive rockband from Peru, Serpentina Sat lite can be surprising for refusing the roots on the local traditional Andean Music - embracing instead the lysergic-psychedelic influences typical with the Krautrock with the seventies. At the identical time, the musicians imprint their unique mark by playing inside a much modern way - aggressive and fast. Most conspicuous could be the energetic background of bass and drums in the middle of guitar solos and guitar effects that results in a very thick torrent of distorted sound that fill in the many empty spaces left within the sound matrix. The opening track - Nueva Ola - is surely an instrumental piece with abusive by using tribal drumming and cymbals, being therefore very similar to early atavistic experiments of Pink Floyd Ummagumma, Popol Vuh and Amon D l II Phalus Dei. The second song, Nothing to Say is fuelled, however, by angry guitar chords and punk-rock styled vocals, resulting in a very Psychedelic-Punk cross-over, almost like such thing might exist. I just wander what sort of music the children of Lima are playing, to combine up such unexpected influences. The third song, The Last Drop, is marked by whispering hypnotic vocals, and psychedelic-bluesy guitar solos that fluctuate more than a low pitch guitar riff. In my opinion this track, together together with the first, are the top compositions from the album. The fourth track - Madripoor - works because instrumental continuity in the previous. The last track, Kommune 1, is lengthy 23:33 minutes, and brings a turbulent atmosphere built by powerful bass and drums sections and a lot of guitar solos and guitar pedal effects, whilst the atonal voice of an child narrates a style of horror story. Because the sound can be so raw and energetic, Serpentina Sat lite is likely to gather, with the resent moment, more fans on the list of underground and experimental rock scene than one of the regular fans of traditional Progressive Rock. Increase in the number of fans would depend on how fast this guitar rock band learn to assimilate the laws of Krautrock style and refine its sound. Band members linked to Serpentina Satelite are: Dolmo - Lead-Rhythm Guitar, Guitar Textures, Renato G mez - Lead-Rhythm Guitar And Guitar Manipulation, Vocals, F lix Dextre - Bass And Vocals, Aldo Castillejos - Drums And Percussion, Flavio Castillejos - Voices, Poetry, Hope And Comments by Marcelo Trotta Maze of Time was founded in 2001 by guitarist, composer and lyricist Robert I Edman gathered some musicians in the Stockholm music scene and the hometown. Music continues to be a vital ingredient throughout his life which has a number of constellations. Over time, he grew weary of playing other bands compositions as being a designated guitarist for several productions and thought we would take a road less travelled. About decade ago, within the outskirts individuals fair capital of scotland- Stockholm, composer and guitarist Robert I Edman was growing weary. Playing music put together by others just didnt undertake it for him concerning was a whole lot in him longing to be removed, and incorporate his or her own ideas in commercial music evidently would have been a no go. Neither was pleasing organizations, record companies along with big dogs for the mainstream media scene, by chaning to more commercial offerings. In November 2006 the debut album Tales on the Maze was already released, giving this guitar rock band some fabulous reviews. 2007 saw a change in the group as Christer Lindstr m left this rock band and was replaced by vocalist Jesper Land n, who s voice has established a truly intriguing impression. Devoted progressive rock fans, once more, have the chance to listen a band that captures the essence of Progressive Rock with with the seventies sensibility that appeals on many famous bands, their music can be a blend of Symphonic soundscapes, using touchs in the best Progressive Metal, layered with incredible melodies and, intricate rhythms that, reflects a multitude of influences while retaining a sound which is amazing and as well very catchy. Maze Of Time is really a band which places strong increased exposure of melody, powered songwriting, with awesome instrumental, creating atmospheric effects, using musical elements that take us on an amazing journey through of fantastic arrangements, always, dominated by symphonic guitar solos, grandiose, pompous and bombastic keyboards sounds, too, an outstanding vocals, generously spread through the entire arrangements. Different in the fist album, Lullaby For Heroes is a lot more layered, the melodies are highly developed, there tend to be harmony vocals through the singer Jesper Land n using the backing from Robert I Edman and Alex Jonsson, all instrumental are dominated by long dreaming symphonic guitar solos, however, in most moments, the solos sounds really aggressive within the field on the progressive metal. In fact Lullaby For Heroes can be a very professional album with nice easy accessible Progressive Music. Maze Of Time is recommended to all or any fans of bands suck as Genesis, Yes, IQ, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Rush, Finch, Apogee, Anyone s Daughter, Like Wendy and Galahad. All Progressive Rock fans will in the end have the chance to listen 65 minutes of brand name symphonic progressive rock music. Lullaby For Heroes may be the second album and was launched in December 2008 by Art Performance Production. Produced by Mikael Lundin, Robert I Edman and Johnny Rosengren, recorded at Over the Hill Studio, Sweden by Mikael Lundin. The album comes complete with 8 songs. There is no favorite song, so, listen carefully all tracks and you will probably be caught with that amazing music. The line up around the band today are: Robert I Edman - Guitars, Vocals and Keyboards, Jesper Land n - Lead Vocals, Jan Persson - Bass, Alex Jonsson - Keyboards And Backing Vocals and Thomas Nordh - Drums and Glockenspiel. Brilliant and amazing album, I can strongly suggest for any progressive rock Comments by Carlos Vaz Retrospective is really a progressive rockband formed in 2005 in Leszno, Poland. It started out with Robert Kusik drums and Maciej Klimek guitars. However, two wasnt enough in order that they started their try to find other members of this rock band. Shortly after, Alan Szczepaniak guitars, an associate from Klimeks neighbourhood, was introduced to your band during one in the rehearsals. His skills and desire for unconventional playing earned him a method in. In April 2005 the bassist is discovered - Lukasz Marszalek, an incredible fan of Iron Maiden s The Trooper. Such a team begun to gig as Hollow in Leszno. One mysterious day in mysterious circumstances they met Beata Lagoda who took her place behind laptop keyboards. Thats when Hollows direction evolved, more and more progressive, inspired by such stars as King Crimson, Dream Theater, Pink Floyd and Polish Riverside. In February 2006 just one more member joined Hollow - Jakub Roszak tried his hand at singing at one in the rehearsals. He was accepted and wth him on vocals Hollow started playing over and above Leszno. In July 2007 Hollow chosen to record a demo which surely helped the group to arise. The demo material was handed out totally free at bands gigs, to be a means of promotion. After that, Hollow started recording new material to get a new demo. Evolution hasten and thats how Retrospective was developed. Retrospective is really a new generation of Progressive Rock bands, using aspects of different styles into various directions, combining more dynamic Symphonic and Progressive Rock styles, mixed using a traditional Progressive Metal, adorned around the perfect dark atmosphere. The musicians dont hesitate to adventure into vibrant instrumental arrangements, creating interesting musical elements, where symphonic keyboards are tastefully utilized on aggressive guitar solos, inside the style of Progressive Metal, but sometimes tend being symphonic with amazing solos, together with dense and powerful drums, lead vocals are strong however, not aggressive, also sometimes symphonic, having a heavy Progressive Rock texture, and so are nicely balanced by rich harmonies. In fact, Retrospective has used a similar musical formula, rich in an instrumetal of types and traditional sounds very attached to Riverside, After, Collage, Frost, Eloy and Dream Theater. Stolen Thoughts is often a remarkable Modern Progressive Rock album, that has a high level of intensity to ensure which the bands message is heard by all Progressive Rock Fans around the globe. Including eigth tracks, among 47min stuffed with amazing songs, naturally an album that sounds contiguous, connected, and totally satisfying. If you want listen some mp3s go to Bands MySpace website. Stolen Thoughts album and Retrospective are the perfect combination, an outstanding addition to your growing catalog of Lynx Music. The musicians on Retrospective are: Maciej Klimek - Guitar, Alan Szczepaniak - Guitar, Robert Kusik - Drums, Beata Lagoda - Keyboards, Lukasz Marszalek - Bass Guitar and Jakub Roszak - Vocals. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The Italian band Hypnoise was founded in 1996 by P. Mike III guitars, Rhodes, lead vocals, Frez drums and percussion, backing vocals and Sanze bass, backing vocals. The first album Opium was launched in 1999 by Mp Records Italy. The second - St. Valentines Porno Bar counted for the help of American producer Ronan Chris Murphy and was already released in 2006 because of the American label Veneto West Records Los Angeles. According towards the band itself, St. Valentines Porno Bar is really a concept album that tells the journey of your character named Ceasar, who, after determining to leave his artificial and stressful life behind, goes seeking a another one. Then he finds a mystical world during which he can experience all decadence, depravity and temptation possible until he feels free to obtain rid of his social masks that way, he finally finds the peace and happiness he was ready for. In order to preserve the key concept, the album was recorded exclusively with analog devices to produce a sound atmosphere that will contrast using the digital and artificial sound of recent recordings. The sound of Hypnoise is hard to label. The vocal lines and melodies, in addition to some bass sections and experimental insertions are strongly relying on Syd Barrett and early works of Pink Floyd The Piper with the Gates of Dawn and A Saucerful of Secrets. Both happen to be cited as major influences by band members. There are, however, several influences in the rock in the 60s and early 70s Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Doors and far Blues, Soul, Gospel, and Post-Punk. All this leads towards the conclusion that Hypnoise is not a normal Progressive Rock band by any means. In fact, with lyrics filled with irony and irreverence the quantity of bands come up with a chorus like I like yellow bananas from Cuba ; or yet a crazy dialog during which somebody demands - Let me have tequila and another voice replays You should take tomato soup!?, Hypnoise must be regarded as just what it is: an incredibly amusing rock band from the alternative underground scenario. The CD has 14 tracks which can be listened inside a row. The main trio of musicians is quite skilled and plays without pretentious virtuosity, but well integrated and honestly. Guest musicians see list below bring lots of variety to your songs, specially those performed by singer Cheryl Porter along with the International Gospel Messengers choir Prologue, Black Napkin on Tomato Soup, Sexual Entertainer, Like a Free Bird. Besides those songs, I also liked Love from the Bathroom, Gods Garden, St. Valentines Porno Bar, and The Ocean. The last two featured Silvia Meloni on backing vocals. With more exposure within the media Hypnoise definitely will gather many fans, and if they can be lucky enough, could possibly qualify to the next Quentin Tarantino s movie soundtrack. I recommend Hypnoise for all those listeners which are not on a Progressive Rock, but possess a wider taste for Rock on the whole. Band members and collaborators included in Hypnoise are P. Mike III Guitars, Rhodes, Lead Vocals and Tape Effects, Frez Drums and Percussion, Backing Vocals, Sanze Bass, Backing Vocals. Guest musicians: Cheryl Porter and part on the International Gospel Messengers Vocals and Backing Vocals, Silvia Meloni Backing Vocals, Ronan Chris Murphy Guitar, Augusto Gentile Didgeridoos, Elena Zanardo Flute, Michele Gervasuti The Voice Of Comments by Marcelo Trotta Satellite is really a Progressive Rock band from Poland and was founded in 2000 by Wojtek Szadkowski, who wrote and co-wrote the majority of Collage s music and lyrics, plus it includes others two ex folks tha famous band Collage. Their debut album A Street Between Sunrise And Sunset was launched on March 10, 2003 by Metal Mind Productions. Its followup, Evening Games, released in February 2005 reached no. 8 with the top100 top selling records in Poland. As the results on 22nd September 2005 Satellite recorded live DVD - Evening Dreams 2006. In March 2007 this rock band had a privilege to play on the famous Baja Prog Festival in Mexico plus in November released third studio album entitled Into The Night. In the meantime Satellite welcomed Jarek Michalski bass as being a new band member. In 2009 Satellite returns using a brand new offering Nostalgia. After three splendid albuns furthermore, as their first work, this guitar rock band Satellite always was acclaimed as being a revelation in the Symphonic Progressive Rock and Neo-Progressive style together an enthusiastic reception across the progressive rock scenary. The group has created a particular musical signature packed with melodic and symphonic elements, today's musical concept, totally different from conventional prog rock style, by combining components of neo-prog rock, using the style, and tradition, on the symphonic progressive rock from famous bands on the 70s. Nostalgia is brimming with symphonic instrumentation and orchestration, the instrumental parts are enriched with lots keyboards sounds and synths effects, together with numerous guitar solos. One of an important and special musical arrangements, would be the clean vocals, which can be provided by Robert Amirian, where record are superb and integrate excellently together with the music. the truth is, Satellite has launched a splendid music, packed with musical personality. If you like Symphonic Progressive Rock and Neo-Prog Rock, also, you happen to be fan of groups for instance Collage, IQ, East, Marillion, After and Genesis you'll immensely enjoy Satellite. Nostalgia was launched by Metal Mind Productions, containing sevem long tracks and almost 58min, filled with instrumental delight. The album was recorded in Wojtek Szadkowskis home studio, also responsible to the music and lyrics, cover artwork was done by the young and talented graphic artists - Katarzyna Niwinska. The album is available into two formats: a normal CD along with a digipak CD with two bonus tracks. A special and particular focus on and my favourite songs around the album are: Every Desert Got Its Ocean, Afraid Of What We Say, I Want You To Know, Over Horizon, Am I Lozing Touch and Is It Over. The main musicians about the band are: Robert Amirian - Vocals, Sarhan Kubeisi - Guitars, Krzysiek Palczewski - Keyboards, Wojtek Szadkowski - Drums and Jarek Michalski - Bass, Krzysiek Palczewski - Additional Keyboards. Guest appearance: Amarok - some additional keyboards and last guitar solo in Is It Over. Brilliant and amazing, variety work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz Angus Clark was created in New York City and did start to learn music when he was eight years of age, although he wasn't much interested during that time. Then Pink Floyd released The Wall, which impressed Angus much that he turned returning to his guitar and, by secondary school time, is playing in rock bands. That was an extreme phase for young Angus, when he begun to consume large volumes of old classics: Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Yes, Rainbow, UFO, Cream, as well as others. Guitarists for example David Gilmour, Randy Rhoads, Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Robin Trower and Eric Clapton were major influences to him. After Graduation, Angus took part in Naked Sun - a progressive rock-band with one release: Wonderdrug 1994. Later, he acted as guest musician in 4 albums of Kitaro : Mandala 1994, An Enchanted Evening 1995 - live, Cirque Ingenieux 1995 and Gaia Onbashira 1996 - supporting him in concert events for three years. He also played within the project Trans-Siberian Orchestra The Lost Christmas Eve, 2005, and has now worked along with other musicians: Paul Rodgers Bad Company, Free, Geoff Tate Queensryche, Jon Anderson Yes, and Buck Dharma Blue Oyster Cult. In 2004, Angus founded his very own label, Stacca Records, and released a solo album: Grace Period. In 2006 he released the EP Unbreakable Heart along with his band Trouble Club. Now, inspired through the sci-fi TV series Star Trek, Captain Angus T. Clark departs at warp-speed towards the Musical Space the Final Frontier within a mission to explore strange new musical worlds, to get new musical life and new musical civilizations, to boldly go where no guitarist moved before. With the aid of other people in his crew - Pemberton Roach bass, Dan Stein keyboards, Tobias Ralph, Dave Berger and Dennis Leeflang drummers, with his fantastic partner from Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Anna Phoebe violin he successfully collected 12 alien-tracks from distant planets and brought the crooks to Earth in their new starship-album: Your Last Battlefield 2008, Stacca Records. The album is 100% instrumental, in support of the last track a free of charge adaptation from the traditional Greensleeves just isn't inspired by Star Trek. The sound is often a well-balanced mix of Blues-Rock and Hard-Rock, with few factors of Progressive. From the beautiful entrance with Upon Arrival having a citation on the Star Trek main theme for the last track, the listener is captured with the lively and energetic performance of Angus and the band mates, in special bassist Pemberton Roach, whose melodic lines provide the necessary weight and groove to every single music. Plunge with them to a space wormhole and journey for the past to fulfill the Rainbow -like sound of Drunk Klingons and I Am Kirok ; and as well the romantic-blues Let Me Help for Edith Keeler a homage to some woman with whom the famous Star Trek character Captain Kirk had fallen in love. Allow the crew some moments of contemplation using the tranquil Pleasure Planet before going back to present time energized from the power of Festival, Redjac the Menace, Scalosian Water and Phoenix Hotel. Most tracks are short lasting from 3 to 4 minutes. This format concentrates many changes of rhythm, interlocked melodies and sophisticated harmonies behind playing the guitar solos, creating beautiful arrangements that steer clear of the sound to have stuck right into a boring guitar-hero clich. Angus himself plays that has a varied stylistic palette, but instead of highlight his technical skills, he would rather perform heartily and honestly, giving the music activity the warmth it deserves. In this manner, he follows a number of other guitarists including: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Ronnie Montrose, Greg Howe, Vinnie Moore of later albums, for example The Maze and Tony MacAlpine later works and also the CAB project. Brilliant, amazing as well as an indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz Il Cerchio dOro, from Savona, only released three singles in the end of these career, which had begun in 1974. Their beginnings were as among the many symphonic oriented bands active within their area, that has a strong influence by Le Orme. In fact their surviving recordings even include some early tracks played to be a trio of keyboards/bass/drums. Unfortunately they couldnt can get a recording deal while still into their progressive years, as well as their only record releases are three singles, issued between 1977 and 1979, in a very very commercial style. Two posthumous releases are of help to know this group, a 1999 CD by Mellow, with 12 tracks recorded around 1976, including their first single Quattro Mura, and three later tracks in a almost disco-style. Much better could be the recent LP La Quadratura del Cerchio, issued in 2005, containing 9 unreleased recordings, a few of which are covers of tracks by Le Orme, New Trolls, The Trip, in conjunction with some originals, reality they result from rehearsal tapes, they reveal good quality and arrangements. After two-and-a-half decades of silence the group found again the motivating force to begin with again playing while using original lineup; hence they conceived the theory to write an idea album from the italian progressive rock style. Il Cerchio dOro finds inspirations in numerous musical sources, and within their approach, we can easily find many musical elements, specially produced by famous and oldest Progressive Rock groups through the Italy. The band has was able to develop a fantastic instrumental orchestration, developing a fresh Progressive Rock stuffed with Symphonism, stuffed of wonderful melodies. The bands instrumentation includes melodic guitars, lots atmospheric keyboards, with soft chords in the bass, nice striking drums, including an angelic vocals well interpreted by Piuccio Pradal, Gino Terribile and Giuseppe Terribile. Il Cerchio dOro is often a band that probably need no summary of fans of old Italian Progressive Rock. Il Viagio Di Colombo album is a terrific journey into Progressive Rock world music, musicians, music, lyrics, arrangements, the art and illustration are perfect, the tracks dont tell the story on the discovery on the new continent nevertheless the one of an outing, wished, searched, and conquered, a challenging travel aggravated through the fear from the unknown. Its a metaphor of any mans life, together with his projects, disappointments, satisfactions of reaching the marks which in turn become the starting points to a different journey. If you like prog rock groups like Le Orme, New Trolls, Osanna, Trip, Il Balletto di Bronzo, Locanda Delle Fate, Banco Del Mutuo Socorso, Foglie Di Vetro and La Maschera Di Cera, certainly you'll love Il Cerchio dOro. Il Viaggio di Colombo album premiered in November 2008 by Black Widow Records, recorded by 50 % formats Vynil and Cd Magipack. The musicians for the band are: Gino Terribile - Drums, Vocals, Giuseppe Terribile - Bass, Vocals, Franco Piccolini - Keyboards, Roberto Giordana - Guitar and Piuccio Pradal - Vocals. Brilliant, amazing, fantastic as well as an indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz Strawberry Fields is really a rock band from Poland, formed in 2008 using a highly acclaimed musician Wojtek Szadkowski Collage, Satellite, Peter Pan, and including the voice of Robin Marta Kniewska. Strawberry Fields music is often a strange blend from the old plus the new, of rock guitars and soft keyboards, loops and psychedelic soundscapes. But what's most important here may be the magical voice of Robin, a lovely female lead singer. Strawberry Fields is usually a new revelation following inside footsteps from the great British bands with the time Karnataka and Mostly Autumn ; they created a delicate melodic progressive rock, packed with melody with successful blend of instrumental symphonism, including an atmospheric pop, adorned with sensitive and emotional vocals, Strawberry Fields are just formed by Collage and Satellite musicians, the instrumental arrangements follow in precisely the same line in their original bands, you can hear wonderful keyboards sounds, remembering some musical parts exactly as about the first Satellite and Collage s albuns, nevertheless the leadership around the group, and in addition the highlight originates from Robin Marta Kniewska, her voice is astonishingly romantic and sexy. Rivers Gone Dry album incuding nine tracks, almost 50 min of pure musical symphonism, the album was composed, arranged and that is generated by Wojtek Szadkowski, lyrics by Robin Marta Kniewska. Released by Metal Mind Productions. A special and particular focus on and my favourite songs are: Your Story, Close, Rivers Gone Dry, Fool, Open Your Eyes and Flow I think would be the best song around the album. Its an ideal album for your lovers of melodic and symphonic progressive rock bands. The musicians with this project are: Robin Marta Kniewska - Vocals, Sarhan Kubeisi Satellite - Guitars, Jarek Michalski Satellite - Bass Guitar, Wojtek Szadkowski Collage, Satellite, Peter Pan - Keyboards, Drums, Acc Guitar and Krzysiek Palczewski Satellite - Additional Keyboards. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The Sol Surfers were formed in 2007, Boerne, Texas, by Lynn Stokes to showcase new original material. All members on the group have extensive professional experience performing live for a long time. The band plays original songs which has a classic rock feel blending the sounds of soul music with all the rhythms and chord structure of surf-rock and new-age, retro-psychedelic. Spending his start in Austin, Texas inside the 1970s allowed hin to discover and witness a multitude of exceptional musicians and musical trends; from your Cosmic Cowboy country scare to your electric blues revival with the Vaughan brothers. Concentrating mainly like a guitar player led me to playing using a variety of bands and musical styles throughout his career and with talented songwriters whose songwriting crafts failed to go unnoticed. One from the highlights of the days was opening for Bob Dylan in 1991 looking at 5000 people and receiving great reviews inside music press. Lynn Stokes is successfully setting up a name for himself over the USA prog music circuit, as being a talented musician as well as a exceptional songwriter. Clearly his music can be so versatile and deliver various musical aspects, developed with a superb orchestration, we could find portions of Progressive Rock, Aor, Symphonic Melodic Rock, Classic Rock, New Age and Space Music. After two considered albuns, his new work titled as Terra Nocturne, will be the story of an outing through the emotions and transcendental experiences, which transpire throughout one particularly lucid evening. The musical style written for this album, draws a wonderful demonstration of Melodic Symphonic Progressive Rock, Space Music and Classical Rock, packed with exciting guitars solos, amazing keyboards sounds, combined with atmospheric instrumental section, the location where the musical arrangements reminds me one thing very near to Pink Floyd s albuns Wish You Were Here, Animals and A Momentary Lapse Of Reason. Terra Nocturne was made by Lynn Stokes, recorded by Spencer Ramzel at 6th Street Studio, San Antonio, Texas, mixed and mastered by Roland St. John Perez, all songs authored by Lynn Stokes, except Sacred Moon s Light lyrics by Stone Bryson and Dream Sequencer by Lynn Stokes and Roland St. John Perez. Including nine tracks, among 53 min, really filled with pure emotions. A special and particular care about and my favourite songs are: Sacred Moons Light, was selected with the Progressive Rock Hall of Fame to get included into their forthcoming compilation CD, Soundscapes Volume One, and was mailed to 1000 record labels, reviewers and radio stations all over the world, Terra Nocturne, Where Have You Gone, Let Go This song is selected by Versailles Records to become included on their own upcoming compilation CD Road TRIP Rock Vol. 1/2., Open Door, American Dream and Across the Barrier. In fact, Terra Nocturne is going to be enjoyed by fans of progressive rock music while using symphonic atmosphere in the identical line of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Roger Waters and Yes. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz The North American progressive band Tiles was formed in 1993 in Detroit, Michigan. The first CD Tiles Polydor - Dream Circle label premiered only in 1995. The band then signed together with the Progressive label InsideOut Music/SPV and released three more CDs, all produced and engineered by Terry Brown Rush, Fates Warning, Alannah Myles. Fence the Clear 1997 was adequately received by fans plus the specialized press; Presents of Mind 1999 brought this sort of good performance of this rock band that generated a party invitation from Dream Theater to spread out their 1999 European tour; and Window Dressing 2004 was nominated for just a Detroit Musical Award in 2005. In 2004 those first three CDs were re-mastered and reissued as Special Editions, featuring bonus tracks. At this point, Tiles had already gained much recognition from Progressive fans and have also been collecting compliments from important musicians like Ian Anderson Jethro Tull and Mike Portnoy Dream Theater. The fifth album Fly Paper 2008 was also created by Terry Brown and counted with participation of countless special guests: Alannah Myles on vocals; Kim Mitchell and Alex Lifeson on guitars; Matthew Parmenter on keyboards and vocals; Sonya Mastick on percussion; and Hugh Syme, who, besides being responsible to the albums artwork, played keyboards onto it. With a sonority that is certainly very similar to bands like Rush, IQ, Rocket Scientists, Kings X, and Dream Theater, Tiles stays well balanced for the border between hard progressive and progressive metal, never pending to the side. The time spanned relating to the previous release which one has had a maturation effect around the musicians to be a whole, for they seem more perfectly integrated together than no time before. The outcome is often a series of compositions that happen to be very complex, both rhythmically and harmonically, and profuse in guitar solos. With the powerful guitar riffs of Chris Hering, the ride bass lines of Jeff Whittle very inspired by Geddy Lees style, plus the heavy - but always technically played - drums of Mark Evans, Tiles make a harsh matrix of Hard Rock that the cool and remarkable voice of Paul Rarick arises to express to us stories around the human condition. The tracks of Fly Paper are organized by 50 percent sections. The first four songs are definitely more direct and heavier, with predominance of guitar, bass and drums. Songs like Hide within my Shadow ; Sacred Mundane with Alex Lifeson adding some lively guitar solos; Back Forth a regrettable half-ballad featuring Alannah Myles on backing vocals and Landscape with Nate Mills on backing vocals gradually prepare the listener for what exactly is coming up next. The second section on the record brings essentially the most creative and progressive songs, which can be enriched by keyboards, long guitar solos and instrumental parts. The best tracks belong here: Markers, Hide Seek both filled up with diverse keyboards by Matthew Parmenter and Dragons, Dreams Daring Deeds featuring Kim Mitchell on guitars have killing guitar riffs and bass lines that happen to be strongly affected by Rush. This section still brings Crowded Emptiness - a ballad on what Matthew Parmenter takes the vocals, letting the keyboards for Hugh Syme, who also plays on Passing Notes a definite plus track featured only inside initial pressing of Fly Paper. With this era, Tiles stands as the greatest bands inside North American hard-progressive scene. Their sound are going to be appreciated by fans that, form bands cited above, like The Flower Kings, The Tangent, Karmakanic, Enchant, Spocks Beard Band members and collaborators associated with Tiles are Paul Rarick Vocals, Chris Herin - Guitars, Mandolin, Keyboards, Jeff Whittle Bass and Mark Evans Drums, Percussion. Guest musicians : Alex Lifeson Guitars track 2, Alannah Myles Vocals track 3, Kim Mitchell - Guitar track 6, Hugh Syme - Artwork and Keyboards tracks 7 and 9, Sonya Mastik - Percussion, Matthew Parmenter Keyboards tracks 5 and 8; Vocals track 7, and Nate Mills Vocals track Comments by Marcelo Trotta Fractal first convened in November of 2000 because of a friend, Adrian Cockcroft, who posted an invite on Pauls behalf on King Crimson enthusiast site Elephant Talk in San Jose, San Francisco, California. Nic and Jim were the very first two to retort, and strangely enough several have been together since that time. It was greater than a little fortuitous that this type of unlikely grouping Paul having just moved on the UK, Jim from Baltimore, and Nic in the Netherlands has resulted in this type of well-balanced complement of talents and musical personalities. Fractal started gigging in summer of 2001 and contains continued intermittently since that time. In July of 2002, they started recordings for first album, Continuum. A few years after their instrumental debut Continuum, along with a year after having a promising single Aftermath, Fractal have returned with their second full album, featuring this rock band as it may be operating live since 2004. Fractal has become together to use current formation since 2004 starting out to be a trio in 2000. Fractal can be a concept of contemporary prog band having a strong instrumental, may perfectly fall somewhere amongst Progressive Rock, Experimental Music and Avant-garde, adding Electronic Ambient textures as well as other sound effects, everything turning throughout the footsteps of King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Gong, Magma as well as others in the identical style. They discover how to create intriguing arrangements, having a strong musical interchange and interconnected lines relating to the keyboards, guitar, bass and drums, with multiple orchestral parts and refined instrumental, giving the songs a very special atmosphere, but very complex too. Sequitur features a little of each one musical style, 1 hour tends to get melodic, but rapidly tends being very complex and experimental. Its not so simple to make comparisons along with other bands, but, we could say the music with this album it turned out created particularly for all listeners wonderfully connected with Experimental musics groups. Sequitur album was recorded throughout the Bay Area, California, USA. Produced by Fractal, Engineering, mixing and mastering bu Paul Strong. Cover design by Paul Strong. A special and particular awareness of and my favourite songs are: Ellipsis, Aftermath, Mantra: Eternal Spring of Life, Giving Tree, A Fraction of One, The Monkeys Paw and Churn - Overture, Part I, II and III. Josh can be a professional musician classical guitar, the entire content of them have day-jobs in numerous hi-tech companies. Brilliant and indispensable work, highly Comments by Carlos Vaz
