Initially I was often unwilling to purchase another updated NIV Study Bible since Ive had several improved versions already with the NIV Study Bible; However, when I opened this updated edition and began reading it, I recognized straight away that there were significant improvements.
A. The NIV text is revised - - this Study Bible uses the updated 2011 text rather as opposed to 1984 NIV text. The main difference from the updated 2011 text is usage of more gender inclusive language brothers and sisters rather than brethren, and significant differences in translation compared to 1984 NIV version.
1 Psalm 23: 4: Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no 2011 version; the older version 1984 reads Even though I walk through the valley with the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
2 In Genesis 1:6 the 1984 version says, And God said, let there be an expanse between waters to separate your lives water from water; inside 2011 version, Gen. 1:6 says, Let there be described as a vault between waters to separate your lives water from water.
3 Rom. 1:16: The 1984 version leaves your conjunction For from the beginning: I am not ashamed on the gospel. The 2011 version correctly adds For inside beginning: For I am not ashamed in the gospel.
First, lets cope with a few on the other reviewers complaints. Some of them are only not legitimate.
This is really a STUDY Bible, fine? Study Bibles are so big and to carry to church. Theyre for study, in the home. If you want a Bible for church, purchase a slimline or pew Bible, but dont complain about precisely how big and heavy it is. Read the weight before you buy along with the number of pages.

That said, if you love to learn and STUDY your Bible, youll love this particular one just as much as Im enjoying it. What we want greater than anything should be to understand what were reading and also apply it to life. This Bible gets high marks on both counts, thanks for the informative articles and good footnotes.

Great Bible app for all of your mobile devices. They use a great number of Bible versions and focus materials! I use for my Bible reading plan, sermon prep and being a reference library.
