I recently bought a Garmin Quest2 which comes because of the software installed without supplemental CD with MapSource, etc. I needed to setup maps I obtained from New Zealand. Garmin says it wont install maps, however it installed them very nicely. Further they have proven a great trip planning tool allowing me to create routes and waypoints at home and upload these to the Quest2 before we leave for New Zealand. Much easier than wanting to set them up for the Quest2 directly.

As per the reviewer below, I can confirm, it can indeed install maps. Why does Garmin says it doesnt? Because they dont would like you loading your GPS with all the current free maps which might be now available. How a company can in fact tell outright lies to its customers to safeguard its own interests is beyond me. And no, it is not an Amazon error, additionally, they say ON THE CD ITSELF that it's going to not install maps!

This software packages are VERY basic and isn't going to offer a great deal of capability. I sync it having a Garmin Foretrex 101, which won't have mapping capabilities. My plan ended up being map out cycling routes around the software and import them into your GPS. However, the trip and waypoint manager merely has major roads Interstates plus some US highways readily available for navigating. It also has only major bodies of water. It is nice software when you just want to monitor where youve been and ways to get there again, but dont thinking about creating routes over completely from scratch unless, certainly, you've predetermined the lat/long coordinates.

I am currently using miracle traffic bot to enter every one of the coordinates with the public artificial reefs away from the coast of Orange Beach, Alabama about 400-500 reefs. Alabama has one in the largest reef programs in the united kingdom. This software prevents me from the need to be within the boat to go in each coordinate directly into my Garmin 545s.
