I ve signed my app and packaged it inside It runs fine on 10.8 when I copy the DMG from the USB thumb drive, however, if I download it from the webserver 10.8 will continue to throw up the Unidentified Developer error. In case it may help anyone else: Apple support confirmed that I had to sign the app over a 10.7.3 minimum with Xcode 4.3. Once I did that, I was capable to sign it and get all of the requirements satisfied. Signing on the 10.6.8 machine did NOT work correctly.
