This was one of my most highly prized review freebies - as it seemed so perfectly adapted to my young nephew. He loves building things. He loves Lego. He loves cars. He loves messing around with his dad, who has become doing the midweek living within the City and commuting back home on the family for the weekend bit the past several months after his job changed.
The principles involved with this set are excellent: the standard Scalextric set, combined having a race to destruction.
I query a few age rating about this set. It doesnt apparently be purely a safety rating, instead a recommendation in relation to your ideal user age.
In my view, 4 is just too young. Ive caused children aged from 3 months to 11 years part-time/holidays/volunteering for approaching for 20 years. In my view 6-7 is often a more realistic a long time as a start-age recommendation because of this set. The pieces are fiddly and wither and die far too easily for younger users. My 4 year old nephew, that is quite dexterous, gentle and has become taught to manage his toys with respect thought it was really upsetting that his car would just falter in his hands. He can build quite happily with Lego - that they loves - and didnt see why this wasnt staying together for him.
My adult brothers, however, found playing using this highly amusing - and derived great satisfaction from reducing one anothers vehicles to pieces.

Having not enjoyed scalextric for 20yrs and achieving read the reviews I was delighted to have this in Black Friday for Р±С‘49! By NYE i wasnt so smug. Cars dont stay fixed of sufficient length to wait until they crash to sink. Really fiddly to develop, tended to use them unbuilt or partially built as was only easier. Kids found this quite frustrating. After 2 x of making and packing away the track the track sections warped thus building a bumpy track - this triggered cars falling off countless contacts wearing out faster. When it arrived the box the 1st time it was awesome, but right away the above managed to get an unplayable large white elephant. Sigh. Returned.

I had Scalextric when I was small Im to close to 50 now and purchased the Micro Scalextric G1075 My First Scalextric Set 1 1:64 Scale Race Set for my lad a short while ago when he was probably 4 to 5, he couldt work out how to master the car and it also ended up not being utilised. He has become 10 and I wanted him to get another scalextric and we all could both have fun with this together, the Demolition Derby ticked every one of the boxes, he likes building things, and similar to lads he loves destroying things, especially cars.
First impression have become positive, the cars are very well detailed and simple to pop together, there a superb size in lieu of being ting parts to pop together.
There isnt lots of track which for me is usually a good thing as Im normally left that will put things away and also to much track would require some time.
The noise my lad made whenever they first smashed directly into each over was obviously his approval, I thought he would wet himself, the windows rattled he was loud, he loves the fact there is some real damage.
