Im not only a fan of Microsoft, but ive tried all kinds of other mail software, and they also basicaly do all alike thing and appear the same. For your details, Outlook is made for Businness. It could be used in your own home, however it is mainly for business. If you want to whine, have a Mac or use Thunderbird, and check out them and write numerous BS like everyone else did.

I installed Office 2010 upgraded from office 2007 on Windows XP with SP3 and 3GB of memory. Office 2010 products work fine except Outlook 2010. Outlook 2010 stars normally and works acceptable for the first 5-10 minutes. After that, it is very, very slow and often unresponsive. Even IE becomes very slow and quite often unresponsive. The only answer to get my laptop to normal would be to shut down and restart laptops.
I have attempted this to resolve the problem, but all attempt failed until now:
1- Uninstalled office 2010 and re-installed.
Currently, Im using OWA Exchange 2007 to have my work going and it's working fine. As you might know, OWA has very restricted features when compared with Outlook 2007/2010.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I cannot continue with the instructions within the link you provided since I don't have access for the computer which Outlook Express was loaded. The display failed and I retrieved each of the files from the hard disc utilizing a Magic Bridge. I am using Office 2010 in this little new machine that has a File - Open - Import option no obvious export facility. Is it possible to import all of my Outlook Express messages direct from your Outlook Express folder stored over a memory stick into MS Outlook in Office 2010?

Thanks to your reply. I am not actually receiving any emails, even though the process of receiving continues in a snails pace, not quick enough for any emails to ever be downloaded. There are no error messages. Starting Outlook in safe mode won't change the slow download rate. Could this be a difficulty with Pop3 incoming servers not being works with Windows 8 somehow, or even the incoming server having to be set to your different number?
As an aside, Windows 8 doesnt have a very Start button where you may type a command, or you cannot that I can find, considering that the Start button opens a screen of apps. I found how to spread out in safe mode in Windows 8 elsewhere.

Thanks of those detailed steps. I followed the approach and also this allowed me to have my mail downloaded.
I did however be aware that after pressing restart your computer goes into restart, mode, but stays on the restart screen. I eventually threw in the towel and pulled the plug. After finding its way back up I started Outlook and was able to get mail again.
While this enables me to acquire my mail. I do not see this to be a normal/permanent solution. Any suggestions.

I have found exactly the same conditions. After starting laptop, Outlook works fine. After a few hours, really the only way to end the slow download would be to restart laptop. I eventually solved the slow email problem by permitting a Microsoft tech support team person from the Philippines to consider over my computer and physically remove all in the Office files one at a time, then re-install Office. It took about 3 hours! The uninstall process wouldn't normally fully uninstall Office, so there have to have been something wrong with all the program originally. I had to get put through to about 6 differing people at Microsoft before I got towards the guy who could actually fix this course. Hope it will help everyone.

Ive had the identical problem, the same manner you described it. Very frustrating. Later, I had a difficulty with pop-up adds with web browser and thought we would remove these kinds of programs that somehow had installed themselves on laptop computer. In particular, I removed SaveAs in every its guises. Since then, touch wood, Ive had no difficulty with Outlook as well as now a couple of days and counting.
