I am neither a Jew nor a Muslim and also to me it seems like so hard if these folks will ever achieve peace since when you are considering politics, geographically they certainly aren't in a peaceful zone. As an outsider, I appreciate a sincere and well presented documentary that allows me to coach myself and also this director has surly done his work by presenting facts and interviewing not many people who have been accountable for defending but the most important thing, are the ones legislators who unfortunately use a mind of their very own but controlled by Bravo.

Its good to find out this doco from DVD, because it only received a restricted release inside the cinemas. I was finally capable to rent it on DVD the other day.
My impressions: firstly, anyone wanting the pro- or anti-Palestinian/Israel diatribe should avoid them, because film avoids the type of grand narratives you see inside the usual propaganda pieces with this topic. Instead the film contains interviews while using heads in the Shin Bet interspersed with video clips of key incidents in Shin Bet history. Most from the responses written by the interviewees include things like short, pithy observations that leave a great deal unsaid, although some on the Shin Bet men provide better interviews as opposed to others it is clear that every of them are still somewhat cagey about saying nearly anything.
For example, the interviewer spends several minutes pressing one from the men with a particular incident where two Palestinian prisoners were killed - apparently murdered - after being captured with the Shin Bet. Quite dramatically, one from the interviewees tacitly admits that he is the guy that gave the order to the Palestinian prisoners being killed. However, it took some googling that i can work out what all this was about - apparently that it was something referred to as Bus 300 affair based on Wikipedia. Israelis may possibly know doing this instinctively, American audiences not as much.

The Gatekeepers 2012 release from ISrael; 95 min. brings an unparalleled check into Israels Shin Bet, the inner security agency tasked with protecting Israel from terrorists along with other outside dangers. The film offers interviews together with the last six heads of Shin Bet, Israels secretive state security service. Despite being largely sympathetic to your men, their interviews were laced together well to show inconsistencies into their responses. As is common in interviews with governmental officials, politicians usually are not shown inside a very favorable light. However, the film causes it to be clear that Shin Bet has not been blameless inside things that happened.
I think this is often a documentary that may benefit many Americans, otherwise others, mainly because it gives a unique perspective on Israels history than are available anywhere else. As an American who's very enthusiastic about understanding the state of affairs inside the Middle East, and that is just starting to discover the darker side of Israel, I found this documentary very beneficial and interesting.
The biggest reason this will not be rated five stars is that it absolutely was hard to remember which from the men corresponded that years as directors with the Shin Bet.
Note: for those considering similar films, Waltz With Bashir can be another very good documentary that shows a perspective infrequently seen inside American media.
