Ive read several user reviews of several Nuance products for Mac within the last hour or so. After reading those reviews Im amazed that anyone would waste their own on this system. One user review made the statement paraphrased that Nuance clearly does not have any desire to make this device for Mac users really appealing it will be really appealing. Her statement made sense. However, as I became more accustomed to my MacBook Pro, I found theres a very obvious cause of Nuance not to ever give a hoot about Dragon software for Mac. Mac features its own dictation software which is built-in on the Mac. I worn the extender without any instructions with no microphone! It didnt work perfectly I had no idea the commands were, but it appeared to be better than how many other reviewers were describing Nuance Dragon software. So I explored my Mac software commands and its particular so far, so great.
I have the next comment in regards to the Dragon/Nuance or whatever software. Ive used that software over a PC/Windows. It wasnt perfect, but beat the daylights from my typing. It performed greater several years ago as opposed to description from the current software for Mac.
My advice will be to fully explore the software in your Mac before attempting the Nuance/Dragon software for Mac. Just sayin!

I are already using Dragon products around 10 years. I have extensive knowledge about several versions of Naturally Speaking for Windows. So Im not a first time.
I was aware that this Mac version was meant to be less mature versus the Windows version, but had not been prepared for my experience using the product which is always that its not less mature, its totally unusable. After installing and training it, it worked well to get a couple of hours. The next day, and so on all subsequent days, its accuracy was a smaller amount than it had been within the first day, and a lot lower compared to the accuracy with the Windows version while using same style of training. Even worse, it hangs, so how the microphone is triggered and cant be restarted without restarting this software. This happens regularly, about every quarter-hour. This is using a fast Macbook running Yosemite.
In my personal, this system verges within the fraudulent. It is extremely annoying any time spending 150 and also a couple of hours looking to get the one thing to work I will haven't any use from this at all, and that I cant get my money back. Dont buy it.

Its just amazing if you ask me when a companys attitude is definitely sc you. Sorry for that French but this product has become awful since get-go. I was thrilled when Dragon took over, though Nuance is usually a pretty crummy company, from their IOS apps. But I bought 3 despite the fact that I didnt work nicely I soldiered on. But then no upgrade price to 4.0 and 4.0 doesnt run while using last three Mac systems. If you are a Mac user, avoid any Nuance programs until there may be some signal that they offer a damn regarding customers and a few. Or maybe SIRI are certain to get good enough we can easily just wave goodbye to Nuance with his longest digit.

I purchased this product together with the hope it may transcribe my professionally recording podcast. I underwent training the software after which let it run. The transcription was REALLY bad. Very normal words were wrongly transcribed at one point it Even Started Doing This With Every Word!!
This is just not ready for transcription. I use a Heil PR-40 professional top in the line recording equipment and process my files in Adobe Audition. So it cant get considerably cleaner. I processed uncompressed WAV files as well as the output was only REALLY poor.

Ive used Dragon Dictate 2.0 in this little MacBook for as much as 4 years with good accuracy once I completed the primary training on the program and myself. I was running Snow Leopard in my 2008 MacBook. In 2014 I bought a fresh MacBook Air and that is running Mavericks. Dragon Dictate 2.0 wasn't compatible while using new operating-system so I upgraded to Dragon Dictate for Mac 4.0 Digital download through Amazon Digital services.
Right on the beginning I noticed two significant difficulty with Dragon Dictate 4.0. It would work effectively for short time this would type lots of gibberish along with the cursor would randomly relocate various other location than the place you just finished the sentence. The second and much more significant problem for me personally was it would not work with text boxes when I was using Pages. I registered my product with Nuance and contacted them about these problems. The support services rep I spoke to informed me that Dragon Dictate 4.0 could not be employed in text boxes. This became a major problem in my opinion because a great deal of my documents medical charts contain data in lots of text boxes.
I requested a reimbursement from Nuance plus it looked like they can provide me using a refund after I provided all of them proof of purchase, however, after they asked me to return the product or service I told to them who's was a digital download through Nuance informed me that Amazon Digital Services has not been an authorized reseller of this system and that I should request a refund from Amazon. In my personal, this would be a bogus answer and Nuance was only passing the buck.
After explaining my situation with a customer service representative at Amazon, they provided me that has a full refund. Amazon has A1 customer support.
So summing up, Im glad I purchased this system through Amazon because they supplied me with hassle free support services. Dragon Dictate 4.0 has some significant limitations does not operate in text boxes, hence my one star review.
